Tried this for a couple of hours, uninstalled. Sad Has any LOTR/Tolkien game on the PC actually been any good?

It's been mostly action/adventure games (And an MMO.) though the Lego games were kinda fun though they do their spin on the story and such but still mostly follow the events of the source material.

War in the North had some small branching depending on how you handled certain things but I don't remember if the game was very well received or not.

Some of the console exclusive games are said to be pretty good though but I don't know much about them myself.

As for this well it's something like a fucked up Tamagochi simulator I guess, there's a story somewhere in there but Talion and Celembrimbor is basically just fucking about with the orcs ha ha.

As if dominate wasn't messy enough in how you basically mind enslave them (With varied results.) you even get a full on mind-break mode eventually and the results are a complete mess but there's a small chance it'll mind break them in a good way too strengthening the orc instead of weakening him.

...So Talion and Celembrimbor are basically having a little NTR in Mordor, stealing Saurons favorites and making them their own.

As if the fan art wasn't messy enough now there's canon mind-breaking too instead of just domination play ha ha.

EDIT: There's bards too this time so you know things are about to get really bad. Very Happy
(Wonder what a insane bard would be like, they're kinda crazy already though.)

EDIT: Figures there'd be one for the sequel too.

'The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II' is a pretty good game.

It's Orc Opression Simulator 2017.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Heh.

The Haradrim, the people of Khand, the Easterlings etc. all had different skin tones (not to mention orcs, Uruk-Hai and Black Uruk-Hai).

So, just arrived in Act 2 and unlocked the Dominate skill. It feels like everything till now was just a huge tutorial. How much of the game have i finished ~?

And it sucks pretty hard that you can't refill your Elf-Shot, when you have the Dominate skill selected. You have to to the skill tree first and select Drain again. So annoying.

Also playing on Nemesis, but most of the time the game feels rather easy.

A friend of mine got a 1080, and didn't want this, so he gave it to me for free yesterday. Almost said no, but then I realised that 'none' is exactly the amount of money I'd be willing to pay for this, so might as well. Very Happy

Nah man, I'm not gonna sell a gift, that's kinda scummy. Razz

I wanted to see how my SoM orcs translated into this one, and since it was free, how could I turn that down? Very Happy

Anyways, I had a real brute of a nemesis in SoM with a black sack over his head since I killed him so many times he had too many scars. Sure enough, he showed up during the arena fight...as level 20. I was level 5-ish. Not even lowering the difficulty could salvage that fight. Had to grind. That was educational, to say the least. :/

I don't know how much of the game you've done but you're not finished with the "tutorial" yet. Once you unlock the "map" (you'll understand what I mean), that's when you're done with the tutorial. Razz

Honestly, you should just hurry up with the main missions and get through with it until that moment happens.

Yea i try to focus on the main missions now. Two reasons:
- It's still not that repetive to me, but i guess it might soon begin
- Elex is coming in 2 days grinhurt

False. I hit the max level with 10 sieges to go, also recruited all my used orcs from the sieges themselves. Also loot boxes won't do shit when rage-mind the level 62 legendary orc decides to take a shit on your soul

welp so far i am in petty much same boat as with Mordor

.... really hate the story missions , but have a blast messing with nemesis system Cool

Managed to royally fuck myself , nurtured my little (Shag the Raven) orc from becoming a captain (by letting him kill me and later dominate him) ... and the bastard betrayed me after 3 missions and right after becoming my bodyguard , because of random other "blood brother" and suddenly became warchief

Ok, this was pretty funny. Met a crazy orc, who could only say the word 'crush'. Introduced himself by saying 'CRUUUUUSH', begged for his life by saying 'Crush-crush? Crush-crush!', but he had the death-defying trait that made him have a second chance at killing me (basically an orc version of the circle QTE when downed), but ran into the slam of a graug that decided to join the fight....and the cause of death was 'crushed'. Made me chuckle. Very Happy

Tried this again last night , gave up after 1 hour with the fov fix.

Its even more tedious than the first one, that one keept me hooked due to the cool gfx and sometimes hilarious battles.

Wich is infuriating, the first one had some cool ideas dragged down by some lackluster design.

And its like they decided to double down on the bad parts for the sequel. Endless and unsatisfying grinds , ridiculous orc density making fights infuriating rather than fun, ambushes on top of that , and ofcourse endless respawning orcs everywhere you look.

Should be called Middle Earth : Chore Simulator Laughing

Flogg the Moaner. I've killed this loser four times, shamed him, attempted to brand him and killed his blood brother but he keeps coming back with his god damn moaning.

Eventually he's just going to have to be beheaded, having to hear that time and time again (Stay dead damn you.) is going to get pretty grating, though the game is capable of creating some really weird orcs. Razz

Four? Peh! I've got one I've killed 8 times (I've kept count). He's now basically a cyborg. Half his face/skill is metallic, he's got a red machine eye, a hook for an arm, and I'm pretty sure both his legs are fake...

Ways in which he has died...

-Decapitation
-Burning
-Poison
-Purification
-Crushed by Graug
-Eaten by Caragor
-Killed while cursed
-Decapitation again (this time I did it near a cliff and watched his head roll into the ocean).

At this point I'm pretty sure he's never going to really die. And he pops up at the most inopportune times as well. Sad

Decapitations don't seem to be a sure-fire way to get rid of problematic orcs any more. I clearly beheaded an Olog after he betrayed me, and he still came back with stitches all over him, including around his neck. Had to shame him a couple times before he became recruitable again. I will not let such a badass looking motherfucker go to waste. Razz

EDIT: I mean look at this dude. He takes such joy from ripping off heads. Very Happy

It's really cool when a totally mutilated orc comes back.
For example I got an orc back after cleaving + losing hand.

His hand was replaced with a hook hand, and the middlesection was heavily stitched Razz

And I've also have some orc whom skull was broken and you could see the brains Razz

What is most ridiculous about this game is the extra-easy fight against captains. I have yet to die in one....midway through Act2. Died twice to Caragors (oh how I hate this QTE-console-derpy-casual-kiddie-style...) but never to captains.

Vault over them, stun-freeze-whatever-hackhackhack-execute-rinse-repeat. If they are immune to vaulting, slide past them and do the same.

I remember doing this all the time in Shadow of Mordor, right to the end, I just never expected them to fail-design this part of the game again.

Also, this striking-fireplaces-thing in all its variations is OP as fuck. Having two captains and a horde of 20+ orcs following you? Run towards a fireplace, wait til they are all in position, and swoooooosh...then deal with the captains vault-freeze-kill...meh.

Imagine this with a difficulty level of Dark Souls. In Witcher3-style. Glorious!

Instead, we got this piece of casual-console-kiddie-crap...a wasted LOTR license.

I liked the first game somehow, but never felt like playing it again, this one...not sure if I'll ever see the end. Did anyone REALLY pay like 60 bucks or 40 for a key? Wow...

Let's just hope AC:O will offer some more...

Yea, some of the orcs a damn funny (like Bruz). Very Happy

But on the other hand i find them portrayed in a way too human way with their personalities and often very fluid speeches.
