Probably they have implennted something more than just a blacklist, they cant be that stupid to announce a simple blacklist as a "something revolutionary and unbreakable".

I read the starforce-announcement and it doesnt state anywhere that the new version is revolutionary or unbreakable. It just states that "the current release of FrontLine makes it impossible to run a protected product from a copy made by any known disc emulator including Daemon Tools 4.0". At this moment that still sounds like a simple blacklist to me.
When a game is released with Sf 3.07.013 or higher we will see if the Daemontools team are able to counter this new blacklist.
Dont forget that Starforce said similiar things when Sf 3.07.01 first appeared. Every version of Starforce ever released has either been cracked or is playable from an image, even their Sf 3.7 Frontline. So dont worry, because if there is a will there is always a way to bypass even the hardest protection.

my bet they have simply blacklisted any scsi drive. up to now u can use a scsi drive (real or daemon's) to boot a game only if it's the unique drive in your machine...
guess now they changed that to "for no reason u can use a scsi drive".
that's a temporaly solution, yes it makes the current daemon tools release useless, but the ide drive is nearer every day

how is it illegal to list sf games that have been cracked/cloned and work? its not...if it were, i dont think nforce would be allowed to operate. And Im 99.999999% sure that nforce operates within the parameters of the law.
Dont get me wrong, doing something like that, taunting the sf guys is kinda stupid...if u dont do it anon. Very bait out. |

The arrogance of these guys is hilarious. It´s like a slap in the face to every developer who decided to use a not so strong protection sheme.
They argue as if it was the developers own fault that they havent choosen the more expensive (elite as they call it) one.
SF Guys try to put their own failures in the shoes of someone else, fucking hilarious behavior. They want the developers to purchase their expensive elite package of course, and say its their own fault if they have not. (Cashcow comes to mind) They pick on their own customers, wise choice.
Noone with half a brain would put a penny in their pockets, at least not anymore after reading their statements. If i would be a game developer who purchased a standard protection wrapping by SF, i would feel arsed now and for sure quit using that Protection sheme.
I have nothing against putting up a good competition but those noobish statements are really setting me up, this shit has to go down - bad.

Hah....I bought it for less than 25$ a mild month after they released it...
I second everyone, who say, starforce sucks. This shit even doesn't deserve it's name written with capital letters, so i'll say starforce SUCKED, starforce SUCKS and starforce WILL SUCK.
Anyone wanna give me a nuke's launch-codes? I'd drive that sf dev's building to hell!

and the developers of starforce will say to the game producers "Bugs what bugs , they cracked the game becoz you are to stupid to use our software that blacklist every computer part , we know that the blacklisting makes the game run slow or even won`t start at all but f*** the gamers , anyway know your art will be secured for decades you cannot look at it BUT YOU WILL KNOW ITS secured"

Exactly, they tell to the game developer that he is too fucking stupid to implent their holy protection the right way or else that he hasnt taken himself the time to implent it properly or is just retarted enuff to pay only for the standard protection. (What a pity)
In all these cases SF is never to blame, all fault lasts at the game developer, the one who they rely on.
What a way to do business in 2006.
If they continue with a mentaly like this they will die soon anyway.

anyway i hate copy protections , i know its a must , BUT why oh why those protections make games run slower or even higher up the min req. for this game - this is simply stupid ,
its like this - game will run in every windows and needs 512 ram but after we added the protection you now need win xp and 2 gig ram to play - example X3 after the another patch this game is now fully playable
and for the note : i dont hate Starforce or other copy protection but IF I BUY A GAME THIS GAME BELONGS TO ME and i can make every thing with it and now in 2005 those fuckers taken my civil rights to make a back-up copy from MY bought orginal game , so they changed the law that when i buy a game I buy a plastic cd/dvd and those plastic cd i own and not the data on it , HEY if i whated to buy a plastic cd/dvd i wouldn`t want to PAY BIG $$$$ for it .

Yeah, just avoid buying starforce games. That solves the trouble for me at least.
I was about quitting gaming anyway, now Starforce is a nice reason to do so at least.
Not mainly because the protection pisses me off, i heard its at least more compatible now.(Congrats)
Well anyway i am not willing to support a bunch of arrogant russians who throw one great one liner after another in their forum, i just am not willing to do that no matter how good the game might be.
Only reason for me to solve that is quit buying that crap, or download a cracked copy when available and send money to the coders. If there is no cracked copy available, well, just fuck the game.
This SF Guys lost every sense of reasonable marketing, a sure no buyer if you ask me. Just cant stand the arrogance.
Last SF Game i played was Ufo Aftershock after the crack appeared. I am now trying to find a way to give money directly to the programmers of this game. The game itself is nice, but i want to spend no money for this sf crap on it.
