Yeah I would rather be worried how are her acting skills after years of depression and alcoholism.
She wasn't that great in Defiance and made that aura of tiredness in all her scenes.
BTW why not get Furlong along?
Also your comments made me rethink my view on old people in movies especially women, stop being such mundane, taking care only of looks and not the overall value of human beans.
And yet let's look on Furlong and Terminator in otherway. It's 30+ years from the T2.
You are living with knowledge about incoming robo apocalypse, you tried to warn people but are dismissed as lunatic, you try to build up a resistance but there is no visible threat so people really don't won't to join you.
Finally you are institutionalized because of your ravings or you just get depressed and go straight to alcoholizm or drug abuse. Skynet doesn't send new Terminators to eliminate you because due to the happenings of T2 and your current mental state in current time you pose no real danger to him. Suddenly robo apocalypse starts do you take the mantle of the saviour and fulfill your destiny (Furlong would have to get some solid detox and training which he would probably not survive) or you just let it all roll in grudge with the people that they hadn't listen to you.

When was she ever a great actress?
Then why try to put her up with the project? It's Leia kind of situation when you put up a wreck of human being that was Carrie Fisher for fan service that was fucking awful to watch.
- Linda Hamilton returns as Sarah Connor, joining Arnie.
- Tim Miller (Deadpool) confirmed as director.
- Writers room to find the story of the three films: David Goyer, Charles Eglee (co-creator of Cameron's Dark Angel TV series), Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles creator & showrunner, Avatar 2)
- Films might be standalone, or they might have an overarching story. It's unknown for now.
- Will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2.
- The protagonist will be "an 18-something woman".
Great
Yeah... just great.
That's a TV series right?
She will look better in the new T-film, with a big budget for makeup, and a many month long enforced gym schedule and diet by professionals.
Well, that is assuming that she is returning as an action hero, and at least Cameron definitely implied that is going to be her role instead of a dialog scene cameo:
Quote:
Cameron made the announcement at a private event celebrating the storied franchise, saying, "As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return."
With Hamilton’s return, Cameron hopes to once again make a statement on gender roles in action movies.
"There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys,” he said, referring to aging male actors still anchoring movies, “but there isn’t an example of that for women.”

Might as well find a way to revive the T-1000 series like they did with the NES, add Robert Patrick into the mix too and form the infallible, complete Old but not obsolete* T-Team
well come on, did you see hamill before force awakens? just because they look how they do now, doesnt mean they couldnt turn things around at least far enough so that 'movie magic' takes them the rest of the way
as much as i... disliked.. the 4th film, really it was the only one with enough balls to push the story FORWARD and go INTO the war, rather than the other films continually rehashing the attempts to stop the war. second film obviously gets a pass since it was a logical progression... three was pushing it a little far, and then 5 just went right back into the comfort zone.
come on already.. give us the machine war!! but do it properly this time, none of this aussie terminator that thinks its human and thus a hero bullshit!
Yes we're all ready to "grow up" and admit the machines won (as they would really as flesh is too slow, inefficient, v.high maintenance/resource intensive, cumbersome to support, unreliable, etc etc) so give us the War on the Machines now -- we have the CGI to do it unlike the 80s/90s...

Mackenzie Davis is in negotiations to join the cast of the new “Terminator” movie.
According to insiders, Davis would be one of the new faces of rebooted franchise, in the vein of Schwarzenegger’s robotic assassin. Miller and Cameron are still looking for the protagonist who would take over for Hamilton’s character. Sources say Davis has been the studio and Miller’s top choice for a while, but the casting needed sign off from Cameron, who is currently filming the “Avatar” sequels.
Good
