EK-Supremacy EVO Threadripper Edition - Acetal+Nickel
EK-Supremacy EVO Threadripper Edition - Nickel
EK-Supremacy EVO Threadripper Edition - Full Nickel
What's the real life difference?
Full Nickel is pretty much maintenance free, has best protection against oxidation, but any of these will last forever with proper fluids.
At least in Germany there will come out a few notebooks this year with the new Ryzen APU.
For example the Acer Swift 3 with Ryzen 5 2500U will cost 799€ - 100€ less than the same model with a i7.
A 4c/8t CPU with a pretty good iGPU for that price seems awesome.
Depending on the price for the desktop variants, i will get one for my Homeserver too.
Enthoo Evolv ATX TG // Asus Prime x370 // Ryzen 1700 // Gainward GTX 1080 // 16GB DDR4-3200
Cooler did not arrive, but it should be here in 2 hours (bought Enermax Liqtech 360 TR4, which is awesome for threadripper, damn alphacool is not sufficient for this one, needs bigger block)
Throwing some stones despite having a glass roof in there yourself, eh RGBerb

Now be careful not to fuck up the mobo and CPU when putting the latter in place
Oh and feel free to send me your old shit, damn rich nordic kurwa

No, that damn ram kit is pretty much best available memory for Threadripper (samsung b-die) and the mobo is best aswell, both had fucking RGB to the max, didn´t ask for this .
Everything went "fine" when i built the machine, needed just dremel a bit my case to fit the mobo (no ghetto style ) and had problems booting up the system (damn memory needed to go black slots instead of grey ones, otherwise it would not boot, had similar shit on my X99 EVGA board, it needed have some odd memory configuration on first boot).
Seems that i won in silicon lottery once again, broke magical 4Ghz on all 16 cores / 32 threads with 1.3V (have not tried less), but 4.1Ghz maybe could be possible with 1.35V, need to try it later today. Anyway very happy with the performance, did not sacrifice pretty much any IPC compared to my golden 5820K (4,7Ghz) which ran every single game flawlessy, got 10 more cores / 20 threads (the difference is insane on the shit what i do, for example cinebench multiscore was around 1400 on the 5820k, little over 3400 on the threadripper, Kolor Autopano Video Pro 12x4K video stitch motion synchronize was like 4 fps on the 5820k, versus 15fps on the threadripper, which is huge difference.
Almost went for intel i9-7960X (16 core / 32 thread), but personally im not supporting intel shit paste processors at that price point (its just huge failure on intel side, dont understand why they are doing it on a CPU´s that has 1500 euro++ price tag, it has also insane power draw compared to threadripper while being only slightly faster, saved money with AMD and the money went to correct place, and this TR4 socket is going to last long, unlike on intel, where the socket changes every week.

Did not luckily have any problems with the latch, this Zenith Extreme has that notorious Foxcon socket which atleast put tech youtubers test out their skills (many gringe) . Sorry kurwa, im exhanging the cpu, mobo , ram to another 32GB Trident Z kit of DDR4 (yes this kit costs fucking 500 euros, jesus memory is expensive these days).

Sure about that, buddy????
It has been stable in everything what i have played (new Wolfenstein, Destiny 2, Battlefield 1, ME:A) and there are no errors in video exporting in After Effects or Premiere Pro, or even more taxing Autopano Video Pro (Autopano Video Pro motion tracking/stabilize uses every single core pegged at 100%, and still no crash, my 5820K crashed immediately if OC was not stable). Aida64 stability test was running today whole day when i was work without problems, havent tried Prime95, since it generates very unrealistic load to system.
Holy carp Breezer, that's an amazing purchase , congrats!
All you need now is games capable of using at least the 50% of that insane horsepower (though if you want to feel discomfort and overcoming sense of powerlessness, the good old Arma 3 is still there )
This refresh is going to have around 10% higher clocks, in other words absolutely no reason to upgrade (there will be also new mobos X470 , same as X370 but with new naming).

So will the new chips be backwards compatible with the current mobo's?
