You might have felt like that, but you are wrong. The whole game with cutscenes is less than 6 hours rushed, and NO the game is not less than 4 hours Laughing

Sorry but the dude is alot slower than I was. I was dual-wielding fully upgraded shotty, which melts everything in seconds and pretty much constantly sprinting because I also had the ramshackles. And before I got the shotty, I used the assault rifle with AP rounds. The optional assassination missions I didn't touch either. But I did spend the time to us the enigma machine also.

I'm happy to report the game got a bit better for me. Duel wielding and playing like a lunatic has toned down the rather lackluster gunplay and i have subconsciously started pressing E all the time (which is the pain in the ass).

The story went from retarded to completely retarded and now its finally fun and silly as it should be. Honestly its like they had to scripts and glued them together (pun!!!!!).
No but seriously, why the hell did they go with the heavy stuff at the beginning, it felt so goddamn out of place, i almost stopped playing. BJ's stupid internal dialog s are shit im over the moon they stopped and we're back to "kill everyone" mode again.

How you got it to work? With Nvidia DSR?
And why is it not playable, it's crashing with DSR on?

Took me barely 5 hours... this is a fucking joke. God damn, I'm glad I didn't pay for this. Not only would I have to live with some retarded censored version... but it being so short and, to be honest, imho way worse than the first one... I'd be mad as fuck. Hell, I'm even mad as fuck right now... I actually had high hopes for this one based on how the first one was. Makes me really wonder what happened with this title... something feels really off about this...

5 hours? Just the cutscenes are 3+ hours, how would you have managed that?

Finished the game... I liked the game and it was a good experience but I have just as mixed feelings as with TNO.

It took me 9 hours on bring em on standard difficulty. But it felt very uneven and kinda unfair. You have 150 health and 100 armor and all of sudden YOU DED. Almost no hit detection. This is a fast action game in which You get punished for fast action most of part.

It's no DOOM 2016, that's for sure. Shooting was good but kinda all over the place. Weapons were also nothing special. Story was meh but some characters were interesting.
The black lady was annoying as fuck. Anya's eyebrows are giving me nightmares Laughing
And the tone of it all is so mixed. Serious and funny. Plot twists were great but some things happened without any indication or reason. BOOM - this is happening now.

And the ending is so abrupt leaving many unanswered questions:
 Spoiler:

Anyway - good game, fun to play through with some cool characters and scenes. Some very very funny ones.
At the same time It all felt so rushed and inconsistent.

I think Wolfenstein for 2009 and RTCW are still my faw wolf games.

Finished as well. A decent experience, but overall nowhere near the praise i see it getting (various 9/10 scores etc.). The problem is that the gameplay can be a bit....boring. There are like 4 enemy types which you are constantly fighting in....corridors. Seriously every game you start somewhere nice, but in 2 mins you're fighting in some bland corridor. Sometimes i felt that the gameplay itself is just there to get to the next cutscene.

I don't know what the story writers were smoking, but the heavy emotional stuff looks completely retarded at the beginning, especially once you finish the game. Seriously what were they thinking putting all that child/woman/animal abuse into a game about Nazi's occupying the US and walking around with robot dogs that breathe fire.... Thank god at the middle it completely changes and goes full blown retard crazy. Actually had a few moments i laughed out loud.
Characters and writing is hit and miss. I hated the Afro leader lady as well, the most stereotypical strong black woman of all time, but loved the New Orleans resistance guy.

I feel that most of 9/10 reviews were because of the heavy stuff at the beginning (and how brave they were yada yada yada) instead of actual gameplay.

My mini review

GOOD:

-KILL KILL KILL
-Sneaky Kills...Except "Oh, you tought i wouldn't see you?..ALAAARM ALAAAARM!!!"
-Double weapons (that i won't use at all)
-Some nice graphics here n there
-"Meeting certain unkillable character"

 Spoiler:

-Being able to kill "That person"

 Spoiler:

-Have the chance, sometimes, to skip bosses and progress onward (I look at you, final area before the game ends!!!!)

BAD:

-Even on High Settings with my GTX 970 and the sig's rig, some moments there were horrendous FPS drops , even with Blur disabled!!
-The beginning scene (after "Previously on..") is the worst thing that you can ever see in a game (Among other games?) and it's fucking unfair no matter what you do.
-Enemies coming out of nowhere
-Not being able to detect where are you being shot from
-The beginning's excuse of 50HP for almost half of the game
-Last area before the game ends' enemies is like impossible unless you skip (again)

6 because of performance issues, 8 for story, but won't play again.

Why are you confused? Confused It shouldn't be hard to optimize a game that doesn't really keep up with the technology unless you make it on a crappy engine. The game in question doesn't really keep up with the technology. Or maybe you think that those washed up textures covered in irremovable post-processing effects are good.

The movie scene was disgustingly cringy.

I played a bit more with FOV about +15 from what I normally use and also switched off motion blur, seems to have helped my motion sickness a lot.

So far (still early in the game) I think this one is a lot worse than Old Blood and New Order in terms of encounters and story.

Fantastic game, hope they sell many copies, MachineGames is talented studio for sure.

Shame, we will never see The Darkness 3, probably, i see some bits of Riddick/Darkness in this game and New Order.

Great characters, stories, really good voice acting and full of memorable moments.

This is engine is amazing, great performance and looks so good, this is the best game engine on the market, along with frostbite engine.

The environments look good. But only after you put the Sharpening option to 4.0 and are using TSAA for example. Without the sharpening i was like Shocked at how blurry the whole image was.

The textures on characters, especially faces, still look like mud though.

Laughing @ppl still not understanding megatextures (virtual textures in id tech 6), this is just the cache it doesn't mean textures will look any better, you could get away even with less then half of the vram for cache("image streaming") and textures would still look exactly the same.
