First mod second version is out. It lets you build new buildings, Assault frigate, A-Wing, Heavy Tank and Snowspeeder. Buildings are useless and the snowseeder cannot be deployed on Tatooine but the Tank rocks and the Frigate and A-wings are nice to view.

Save your original config.meg out of the data folder and overwrite it with the new one.

edit: this mod is cool , just tried it .
Im sure we can get more stuff .

Anybody got links to mod or hacks for the demo so we can play more mission?

I would have liked to see a story mission too. I'm curious how they will play. Do you have a galactic map mode and reinforcement points in the story campaign too?? Anyway, what I saw of the gameplay was nice but the game performance is really terrible! At least during ground battles. It runs very shitty (almost unplayable!) and looks unimpressive (even with everything maxed). The performance doesn't even get much better with some details turned down. And that's on a PC that meets and exceeds the recommended system requirements which are a bad joke obviously. They should learn from Ensemble how to create a good 3D RTS engine!

These are the official requirements:
Quote:
CPU
---
Required: Intel Pentium 1.0 GHz or AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz
Recommended: Intel Pentium 4 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 2.0 GHz

------
Memory
------
Required: 256 MB RAM
Recommended: 512 MB RAM

-------------
Graphics Card
-------------
Required: 32 MB 3D Graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L) Capability
Recommended: 64 MB 3D Graphics card with Hardware Vertex and Pixel Shader (VS/PS) Capability

Are they kidding?? What a blatant lie! This game runs only good on high-end hardware.

is it me or is turning AA on making the game actually less attractive...

it makes it all so blurry and unclear... all other settings are high though and the game plays great Smile

cant wait for it to arrive

you don't get to play imperial from it. It enables 1 imperial unit for the rebels.
(it also includes previous mod from what I can tell so all new units)
Rebel speeder doesn't work though. I built some, but couldn't place them on tatooine.
A shame because they have an AT-AT and the air speeders would be great against that.

There is the newest one for the rebels. All Units and buildings are unlocked. Lots of credits and buildingpoints. And the A.I. of the Empire is activated.

well .. i think it still does not attack on its own ...
but that AI guy uses a really low strategy ... building MASSES of lambda shuttles to crash my rig while battle ...
(fyi, i have 2 GIGs of Ram, AMD 3500+ and GF6600 GT, so its really building lots of them).

About the game, seems to get repetitve, strategy is reduced to stone, paper, scissors.
Still a nice game. Maybe my expectations were too high. Sad

Agreed. This looks like it's going to shape up to be one nicely epic game! Remember we only played with 2/3 planets at a time, imagine scaling that up to 20/30!!

planets can be unlocked by editing the demo sandbox .xml file
for example add:
Code:

   <Event Name="Demo_Campaign_Reveal_Bespin">
      <Event_Type>STORY_TRIGGER</Event_Type>
      <Reward_Type>REVEAL_PLANET</Reward_Type>
      <Reward_Param1>Bespin</Reward_Param1>
      <Reward_Param2>1</Reward_Param2>
      <Prereq>Universal_Story_Start</Prereq>
   </Event>

this would unlock planet bespin

you can also test out the different heroes
example:
Code:

   <Event Name="Rebel_AI_Heroes_10">
      <Event_Type>STORY_TRIGGER</Event_Type>
      <Reward_Type>SPAWN_HERO</Reward_Type>
      <Reward_Param1>Obi_Wan_Team</Reward_Param1>
      <Reward_Param2>Hoth</Reward_Param2>
      <Prereq>Universal_Story_Start</Prereq>
   </Event>

this would add obi wan to planet hoth (starting planet in demo)

maybe someone will waste the time and unlock all the planets for some fun Smile

Here is the mod with planets. 22 playable planets but only two ground maps and 3 space maps cause there seems to be not more in the demo.

But two things:

The demo is wanted unbalanced from the developer. This means in real game, building and travelling speed is reduced.

The empire expands fast. Be quick or you will be overrunned. And the trade lines are not always clear. so check how to get fast from planet to planet.

Some bugs either cause of demo

My computer exceeds the recommended (not minimum!) requirements but it runs absolutely crappy (and looks unimpressive) and you tell me not to complain?? Well I can complain how much I want. They don't code efficiently and they blatantly lie about the requirements. That's a proper reason to complain. If you don't understand that, then you're an idiot.

Narf. No the time travelling between planets and building ships, units and builings will take a lot longer in the full version. This is only in the demo so fast. Or do really believe that a cruiser only need 5 secons longer to be build than an fighter?? Rolling Eyes

This is better
http://files.filefront.com/Steves_Ultimate_Mod_171rar/;4649349;;/fileinfo.html

Maybe some details and why its better?

[EDIT]

Or don't bother. I installed this. Absolute 100% WORST mod ever.
You could mod a fuscia vomit brown sweater into barbie horse adventures that featured and lewd sex act on it and it would be 10 times the mod this is.

Either you're steve or steve is stopping by later to blow you under the desk.
