Weird that the game sold so well (according to ea's bullshit) and yet they canned future dlc, eh?

It did really well, so they decided to ditch DLC and go straight for a sequel.

By allocating most (I think) of the developers to work on anything else but a sequel, a brilliant and innovative strategy Surprised

I just did Eos. Which crew members do you people think are good in battle and say/do interesting things, so I can choose them? It seems Cora is important?

If you want to survive without rolling your eyes every five minutes get two between Drack (rough Krogan who gives absolutely zero fucks, a beast for close combat), Vetra (serious Turianina with some decent lines - not powerful but she gets better later on) and Jaal (Angara fellow, pretty laid back and good from long range, though he gets additional abilities as well). You'll still roll your eyes because of all the other encounters, but at least the team will be alright..sort of. Razz

It's up to you, but I would recommend avoiding the rest of the companions if you care about your sanity, I also went with a female Ryder since given the options and the fact that Drack wasn't into manly action, romance simply wasn't viable.

Too bad you'll eventually go back to the ship and find out that all the others are unfortunately still there waiting for you, or at the Pathfinder HQ where the folks affected by Addison's disease rejoice. Enjoy the shooting while you can, the only passable thing in the game Cool Face

I liked the combat and the vistas.

I didn't like all the plot holes or unfinished plot lines, period.

So much potential, thrown away...

Well, this game sold on the name alone, alot of people must be majorly pissed off.
It's clear that Biowere's next game will be their last, before they get put down like the Old Yell..er..Visceral, Westwood, Bullfrog, Pandemic, Maxis and so on.

Well, that's EA's M-O. Buy the competition, milk it and then smash and create teams that churn out junk every six to twelve months.

Lets not pretend Bioware hasn't gone to shit in recent years. The talent that made games like BG2 , Dragon Age, Kotor etc isn't there anymore.

Its literally only the name left and a pack of SJW and queers in the writing department pushing their political agenda.

I feel bad for EA to be honest, they probably treated Bioware as the golden goose, while they smashed studios like Visceral so Bioware can shove shit into the market.

Also is it just me or im seeing the political sewage spill into games this year more than ever ? Wolf 2 was so blatant that it made me cringe, but it seems to slowly creep in more games ever since Action Donnie took office in burgerland.

Unnafected by this are still Blizz and Valve, they never brought political commentary into their games if it didn't fit the universe.

Bethesda isn't as direct in their (EDIT: Published.) games but it exists in Death of the Outsider, Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2 but not to the degree that Bioware made it like Inquisition or Andromeda.

...Wonder what something like Knights of the old-PC republic 3 would look like, or Jade Empire 2 these days.

Or Baldurs Gate 3, Siege of Dragonspear had some issue with how some things were written as I remember but they also got a lot of criticism for that.
(Having things like that in the game isn't a issue if it's well implemented, don't just hammer it into the players face in the introduction dialogue though as some of these games did.)
(Which even the gay and trans community they catered to called out on I believe.)

I've always had a Krogan and Turian as companions, in all ME games. Lucky me that they gave Drack personality, although Vetra doesn't come any close to Garrus from the original trilogy.

It is an issue and they admitted it by having to bring out a patch that added white skin color. Previously it was hidden under the Black category or something like that according to reddit comments. So first they made sure there was no white male in the squad mates and then they hid the white skin color and people were complaining about not being able to create a customised white male or female. (Defaults were white, strangely enough)

So they had to patch that in. And we have to discuss bullshit like this instead of video games.

It wasn't hidden, the available skin tone tints literally made caucasian skin tones impossible. The lightest you could get was some sort of hispanic skin tone.

The forums could turn into something like that too, Shepard and Wrex romances for example. Razz

EDIT: Though I believe they had a separate section for fan material in the end, forum underwent quite a few changes from the original to the EA/Bioware and BioPoint system and then the new design.

Following the disappointment of Andromeda, fans thought that maybe, just maybe, Bioware would make some kind of announcement. The general thinking was that perhaps they would announce a remaster of the original trilogy. That’s what most fans have been asking for.

I wonder if doing a remaster would have been a better idea for Montreal to tackle instead of Andromeda. I started a run through of ME1 and coming back to it a few years after the last time I played it, it is certainly rough around the edges. A remaster would be a good chance to fix up some of the worst stuff and implement a consistent and uniform control scheme, class/levelling system, weapons/armour upgrade system, etc. across all three games. Although I'm not sure if they could even handle that much without fucking something up, so maybe it was for the best.

Haha exactly, considering how Biowarea operates it's better this way. A proper remastering job would have required expertise and big efforts when it comes to tweaking/upgrading or even changing the engine in a way that it doesn't feel like something else entirely, a dedicated team for expanding features and improving them without any dumbification, another one for redesigning the maps in a way that they look and feel more alive, an impossible scenario given EA's modern priorities and modus operandi. Sad Laughing

It was already tough to witness to the direct sequels ditching many of the great ideas behind the first game..having to suffer the sight of a lazy, shallow, lifeless and tired remastered ME1 where each successful bypass grants you a 30% off coupon to spend on Delan's in-game online Lootstore really would have been too much to handle.

but think about it. bioware could go back and fix all the problems with the original trilogy! edit out all the white skinned people and replace them with more ethnically appropriate versions (complete with every sentence ending with 'aight' or 'aww hell naww'), all mentions of he or she will be replaced with more acceptable non binary terms, and all wome... non binary entities of fluid identity.. will prefer to only interact with others who are similarly...not able to be categorized... and all FILTHY MEN SCUM will be be homosexual.

jeez.... when i look back at the first games, they were SO unaccessable to modern gamers, and down right prejudiced in their depictions of race and gender... shocking how it was even allowed to be released, really.
