I liked FFXV overall, even though it was a huge mess, but atleast a step in the right direction after the horrible XIII afterbirth.
These fucking DLCs though, they're further steps in a very wrong direction, instead of trying to patch up the mess of the main game and add meaningful content to it, they're going fucking crazy with different genres and shit.
They should take the gameplay ideas from this DLC, polish them and use as a base to build a new Parasite Eve game instead, the last one on consoles we've had was 18 years ago!
Fuck, the HDR implementation in this game... in certain places shit looks real ( like the pier in the first chapter ) etc. The wilderness isn't that great but anything else, wow.
Makes me sad once again how far behind pc is in terms of graphics.. all that power and owned by something so weak simply because of budget, rendering techniques and HDR.

Ubisoft and Square Enix announced today that they’ve partnered together for free Final Fantasy XV DLC. They’ve brought Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy XV together for the Assassin’s Festival DLC, which is coming to Final Fantasy XV on August 31.
Beginning on August 30, FFXV players who have obtained the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will be given an Assassin outfit for Noctis. Then, the Assassin’s Festival will be released for FFXV on August 31
The latest Final Fantasy XV update is now available. The 4GB update brings with it a bunch of new options including a bestiary, chapter select, and the Assassin’s Creed crossover event. The event is time sensitive as players only have until January 31, 2018 to experience it. Players can access the bestiary in the Archives section of the main menu, and the chapter select can be found after completing the game’s story.
At Tokyo Game Show 2017, Square Enix announced that the next Final Fantasy XV update would add in new story content to address plot holes, and it’s now available. The Final Fantasy XV September update is now available for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it adds in a new event to chapter 12 of the role-playing game. According to developer Square Enix, this new addition “explains the events that led to the War of the Astrals.”
After being leaked early, the Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition is official. It’s not just a simple game of the year edition, as it features an expanded map, a fully controllable royal vessel boat, and a new first-person camera mode. Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition will cost $49.99 if purchased physical, and existing FFXV owners can purchase the new content on March 6, 2018.

Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has revealed in a series of interviews with Japanese publications that the game is set to receive four new episode DLCs by 2019.
Although Tabata’s original plan was to release three new episodes within 2018, he’s told Famitsu and 4Gamer that he wants to complete the Final Fantasy XV universe within a reasonable time frame but without having to worry about releasing all the additional content this year.
Square Enix revealed plans to release four new pieces of DLC content for Final Fantasy XV through summer 2019.
Episode One – Ardyn: Learn more about Ardyn’s struggles and the resentment he harbored toward Lucis for thousands of years. The story also touches upon his differences with the Astrals.
Episode Side Story – Aranea: This side story depicts the Starscourge from the Niflheim’s perspective. Here we see the final day of the Empire from a brand new light, which is also Aranea’s worst day.
Episode 2 – Lunafreya: This episode focuses on Lunafreya’s battle to save her loved ones, which ultimately changes the destiny dealt to the Lucian King.
Episode 3 – Noctis: After parting ways with the Astrals, Noctis must face a final battle in an attempt to better serve his people.
Square Enix also announced numerous updates coming to the core game later this spring:
* The ability to switch Noctis with a customized character
* Players can now see the “ghost” of other custom characters
* Players can drop items for others to find
* A mod organizer for the game
Final Fantasy XV’s multiplayer component, known as Comrades, will also see a standalone release later this year. It will be newly accompanied by raid bosses and battle challenges.
The new DLC will become available between winter 2018 and summer 2019.
