Welcome to The Citizen's Patrol meeting. It was held in an old church outside of a local shanty town. Normally Farley Brown is by my side for everything I do these days. I had to leave him behind for this escapade. He has become my familiar for adventures around here.

As I walk in two things catch my eye. Directly ahead is a long table adorned with enough food to feed the entire county. To my left is a gentleman wearing head to toe camouflage. His face is hidden behind a ski mask and he's wielding an assault rifle. Surrounding the table is a group of elderly people. All eyes turn to me when I enter.

I introduce myself, give my location and gaze upon the feast. I haven't eaten in 45 minutes. Nearing starvation I realize I've come to the right place. I drop my fried chicken and roasted veggies on the table like a boss.

Will I be shot for eating too many cookies? Only one way to find out. I waste no time and shove food down my gullet. It seems like the best way to blend in. My God the cookies are good. Is that steak? I'm eating in the wrong order. Time to prioritize.

I have a seat at the King's Bounty. The gossip begins. It's nothing out of the ordinary. Topics include gas prices, restaurants, sermons, the weather...usual topics you would expect from a small town.

Is that fried catfish? Yes it is. It melts in the mouth.

During a pause in conversation I drop the bomb. I ask if anyone has had items gone missing, heard strange noises or experienced anything out of the ordinary. They gaze upon me again with watermelon dripping down my face.

The stories begin. Lights in the sky, unknown noises and missing property are brought up. Just like that I'm not alone in this. I share my experiences. They all listen politely. Finally some relief. Now I don't feel so crazy. Good Lord are those crab cakes?

The meeting winds down. I'm gifted a Citizen's Patrol sign to post on the property.

The stories I heard mirror my own. No one was shy about sharing their own. I feel like this is heading in the right direction. I load up on leftovers and head home for the night. There is enough to share with Farley and I feel relieved. Speaking of relieved...I have to destroy some porcelain.

So, here is what you gotta do, because you'll end up dead soon anyway. Grab some strong large branch, make a spear and grab an axe (fuck guns, they run out of ammo). Grow a massive beard (this is important!). Read up on some old norse rituals... the warrior stuff.

So the next time you got one of those weird nights... it's time to get weird yourself. Do the rituals, grab your gear.. don't forget your beard and put on some warpaint on your face and chest. Grab an Ipod or whatever people use nowadays, has to be filled with Viking-Metal or Death Metal... Bolt Thrower will do just fine... up the volume, let the power flow through you. Channel your inner Berserker and fucking kill whatever is out there.

You either vanish forever or you'll become a legend. King of Kings. Slayer of demons. Or the guy that just vanished and is found 3 months later with sore anus in the forests.

Totally worth it though... or whatever the case, will be quite the experience.

*EDIT* Yo, do a livestream next time you hear weird shit so we can give you advice on how to get yourself killed for proof of the supernatural.

I plan on posting some photos by the end of this week. I would like some recommendations for image uploading sites. Thanks for the encouragement.

One can only hope. I'll make another post about my own background involving nature and my past...and another experience I had in Minnesota which sticks with me to this day.

Thanks for the comments!

And dude, not that I know you or anything, but your musical tastes seem to fit the image I have of you.
Great ones, btw, if just sometimes a bit too tripy for my taste Wink

Thanks man, music transcends all tastes and boundaries. Life wouldn't be the same without it Smile

Past Tale from the Twin Cities:

This is a strange one. It is imprinted on my mind like it happened yesterday. To this day I've only shared this experience with a select few. There were three witnesses on my end. I don't know if any more people saw it that night. As with many things...to the Useless Void it goes.

It was a decade ago on the 4th of July and the anniversary of our father's passing. My brother and I decided to drive our mother to a firework display. She was battling cancer and we all needed to get out. My brother took the wheel...mom in the passenger seat with me in the back.

Like many nights in Minnesota, it was humid. The smoke from the local celebrations hung low in the forest. I remember the smell of gunpowder. I can smell it now. There was no wind. It was sublime.

We drove twenty minutes to a neighborhood of Prior Lake. The display from this lake was impressive...year in, year out. She needed it, we all needed it.

We turned the corner onto a perfect street to view the festivities. This particular block was dark with no street lights. As we came around the corner our lives were changed forever. Things were about to get weird.

Directly ahead of us, a hundred feet up were seven objects. They were oval shaped and pulsing red and orange. I was the first to speak. "UFO's!" "I see them" said my brother. At that moment, the lead object shot out a beam of red light. It scanned our car. I gazed directly into this light. We all did. It was like staring into a laser with a starburst effect.

My brother hit the brakes and I was the first out of the car. I couldn't help myself. It was as if time had stopped. I wandered out and stared up at these things. My eyes were transfixed on them. They passed directly overhead. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Seven oval shaped craft, pulsing red and orange. They passed directly above us. They were twenty feet long each, five feet wide. They cruised right over the neighborhood and passed us. Without realizing I had walked into the front yard of a stranger's home.

At this moment the actual firework display began. The typical explosions, sparkles, bangs, Chinese lanterns..all happening behind us. We watched the opposite way as the objects dropped down and skimmed the treetops. They continued to travel to the east and out of sight.

So there we were. Standing in awe, laughing out loud and trying to comprehend what we had just experienced. We had no logical answers. There were no other reports of these objects in the weeks to come.

Subsequent years would produce similar sightings. Unfortunately those sightings would occur without our mother.

My brother and I have seen some strange things. Our time in Colorado would prove no different...and now I'm onto Missouri. Those Colorado Tales are for another time.

All that being said, I miss my parents dearly. They were the most opened minded and loving people I have ever known.

And when presented in the wrong way, in the wrong context, the incidents and the people involved in them can appear foolish, if not downright psychotic."

You write like a professional. You should pursue that.
Who cares about real or imagined? You got great skills when it comes to telling a story, and you should use that.
Write a book, and you can count me in as a buyer.

Thank you sirs, that means a lot to me Smile

Chicken and rabbit coops have been added to the property to be filled with life next season. Fencing will be added around the acreage over the fall and winter. I've returned to black outs at night in exchange for a 2000 lumen, handheld spotlight. A crossbow is in my near future with a lot of target practice.

Over the next few days I've got company from out of state. High strangeness continues around here. More reports and photos to come after the visit. Farles Barkley and I remain vigilant.

No worries, finding some enjoyment is all that matters. Smile

It's mid November and fall still clings to the area. Will winter ever truly arrive? Coming from Minnesota it's a welcome change. Taking advantage of the cool weather is advantageous as the summers are stifling. Slowly but surely improvements have been made to the property. The only way to move forward is to focus on one thing at a time. The garden has quadrupled in size and has been fenced in. It was a test run for the perimeter fencing. Everything I do out here is a first. It's always an adventure, I'm always making mistakes and I'm always learning from them.

The strangeness that surrounds this place continues. During the days it slips my mind. My focus is elsewhere. The nights though...the nights are a different story.

It was an early morning, Tuesday. Once again I found myself on the deck gazing at the stars, tobacco filling the lungs. Farley was sniffing the air while circling the railing. A crack rang out from behind the workshop. A heavy, wood on wood knock. I grab my trusty spotlight and illuminate the area. I have the high ground but I see nothing. Another crack follows, only behind me...beyond Pet Sematary Road. Are they communicating with wood knocks? Are they warning each other that I'm outside? Am I crazy to think this spotlight and Farley are going to protect me? Speaking of Farley, where is he? I shine the beam around and I see him. He's silent and cowering in the corner of the deck, next to the door that leads inside. This is when the fear set in.

I feel the need to explain something here. I've trained Farley through play and patrolling to go after anything that comes onto this property...animal or human. He is the epitome of a watch dog. He barks, he chases, he does his job. To see him act like this is disturbing. His behavior spreads to me instantly. I'm afraid.

This night though, I also happen to be drunk. Liquid courage runs through my veins. I grab a broom and whack the railing. The knock echoes for miles. I hear a response about a hundred yards from behind the workshop. Then another, even further out...and another even more distant. Each with their own echoes. Each very distinctive. They are signaling each other. It's the only thing I can think of that makes sense. At this moment I unleashed a primitive scream. I could hear it bouncing off hills for miles. I was proud of it. Silence followed.

Through this experience I saw nothing with the spotlight. It has enough power to turn night into day for 50 yards and beyond. Farley started to whine. My head started to spin. It was time to pass out.

The next afternoon I found myself patrolling with Farley Quinn. In the back of the property on the perimeter of the forest I found a large limb, eight feet up, snapped and hanging off a tree. It wasn't there the day before. I don't know what caused it. More fodder for the chainsaw and fire pit I suppose. Farls marked this area. To be safe, so did I.

While I'm looking at this limb I hear jet engines in the distance. I know the sound. I've seen them before on many occasions. Two A-10 Tank Killers come screaming overhead. They are nearly at treetop level. They are so low I can see the pilots. They bank over the property and continue on their way. There is an airbase out there. It's Whiteman Air Force Base. This county has no regulations and they are performing war games I assume. I assume a lot of things. I'm out here peeing with my dog, marking my territory. It's just another day in The Ozarks.

A belated Happy Halloween from Farley and myself, and Happy Thanksgiving as well.

It's amazing to finally see pictures too. My imagination runs wild when I read what you write so I can only assume what your imagination is like when these things are actually happening to you (assuming of course that what you write is true, which is what I choose to believe because it's more fun that way). Very Happy

You're fucking A right!
Also, Farley looks like the second coming of FLUFF! Awesome(in a thesaurus sense)-looking dog.
Also, like some people said, "Tales of the Ozarks" could become a "found footage" book of it's own.
I'ill say it again: You should use those writing skills to be an author. I would support the living fuck out of you.
Anyway Very Happy I like everything you write, and please, please do continue.
Lots of love, man, and keep on rocking Dude Cool
