They should add server browser or at least map selection. Hate playing the same map half the time.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Argh foiled by a couple of minutes on posting that article.
The funnier bit in all of this were those shit talking ACTIVISION blizzard starcraft 2 tweets mocking on gamblefront's lootboxes only to have this ruling biting them in the ass too, at least as far as overwatch is concerned
Assuming that this will lead to actual legislation on lootboxes, that is. But it's a first step.

This is promising news, simple reactionary online ruckuses can only do so much and only politics can really shake the immobilism. I'm not sure the other members will be as willing as Belgium's commission and/or informed enough (surely not the Italian one, it's a miracle if they know how to turn on a PC) but let's hope for the best.
Even if such type of gambling won't get completely banned, a heavy regulation would already be a positive result, although it might end up being an EU-only thing since USA and the ESRB don't seem to see any issue with the lootboxin' (on the contrary).

This looks like a Red Alert cinematic. The fuck is with the obnoxious angle?
It's Hawaii. They spend their days on the beaches, stoned, and buried to the neck in beautiful women. They're a little bit more...laid back...down there.
Having said that - it'd be awesome if Kane made an appearance midway through and the camera cut!

Looks like Belgium is also looking into loot box practices though they're aiming on a straight up EU ban from how it sounds though I doubt it'll happen but I could be wrong, bit different between the US and the EU and also PEGI and ESRB though neither of these two seem to be too interested in changing things up.
EDIT: Ah I see Naldrium already posted that a bit further above.
I'm not so sure the investigation is concluded... No Belgian newspaper is reporting on it, nor the site of the gaming comission and the article on VTM is rather ambiguous when you read it in Dutch rather than the google translate they are going with.
I could be wrong though, but this seems more like a bad copypasta from the great journalists of the gaming society.
I'm Dutch and this is my translation of the article they used (sorry for the terrible formatting I'm on my phone):
The minister of Justice wants to ban in-game purchases, if you don't know exactly what it will contain. "Combining gambling and gaming, especially at a young age, is dangerous for the mental health of the child.
The commotion started last week with the new game Star Wars: Battlefront in the the game you could buy so called "loot boxes", virtual boxes which could contain advantages for the game. You don't know however what it contains beforehand.
"The combination of money and addiction is gambling", ruled the gambling committee. VTM News brought the news and a few days later EA withdrew the function from the game, partially because Disney complained, which has the rights to the Star Wars merchandise.
Geens now wants to prevent that these kinds of funtions will be in any games going forward. "But that takes time, because we have to go to Europe. We will definitely try to ban it."
That strikes me as fairly unambiguous. You have a different take on the translation?
->"The combination of money and addiction is gambling", ruled the gambling committee
That bit is just their regular stance and has been said before the investigation. But somehow it is being presented as they just concluded and ruled that. And as far as I can look it up they (gaming commission) haven't communicated any findings or decision on the matter. Unless the only one informed was the minister of justice.
So the only new thing so far is that the Minister of Justice wants to bring it forth to the EU.
The chatter around it already gave the vibe they will consider it as gambling though. Maybe that's why he's already pushing for it.
Again, just one private broadcast company is reporting it, none of the other media or the site of the gaming commission has done so. I rather see some more confirmation than plastering it all over the net without the gaming media even checking up on it.
