Thats because it appears they still haven't fixed the problem where game fps is tied to server fps.

If you overload the server, you'll get 12fps.

Tried watching a couple and it's painful to watch. Only one actually was able to "play" the rest were stuck on loading screens or errors. Apparently the auth servers crashed now too. The one guy playing was one of those guys where their gameplaying ability is like watching a bad horror movie - you spend the whole time going "What the fuck are you doing? You suck at games."

It sounds to me that a little additional pledging campaign really could be necessary in order to grant the optimal stability and update the netcode in a refreshing manner.

The fans will completely understand that it's for the greater good and the overhaul will also benefit the overall experience in single-player, thanks to the advantages brought by the central CloudRoberts computing service and technology.

The shit would sell itself if it was good and they exploited streamers... but with most AAA the shit is mediocre/crap.

I mean we are talking about CoD, who in their right mind thinks it needs that much to market... the name alone is enough for people to buy it and it is a strong brand (sadly ).

That SWTOR is funny... 200mil for development... empty for marketing. Bullshit, knowing there was massive rage when people heard a bit more than half was spent on marketing. Razz

The anniversary ship sale conveniently begins today so there you go.

My guess is they released 3.0 right before the sale to generate hype and in turn have plebs happily hand over their hard earned.

Surely you'd want to have the sale before releasing a demo that showed how terrible the game actually is?

Seems to me at some point they will need to bite the bullet and redesign their netcode from the ground up ... and that will push the game back A LOT Laughing

It is ridiculous to have server-related lag because there are 8 people in the server...

They won't because they likely can't. CRYEngine/Lumberjack has always had poor netcode, and given the ridiculous amount of data they're trying to shift in game, it's very likely it simply cannot be done with that engine.

Of course, starting with a completely new engine would be wonderful for them as they can pretty much start a new round of funding.

They might even release SC as-is, and announce Star Citizen II - The Wrath of Kane.

Lumberyard has improved on it, but yeah the engine was rather poorly in that regard and I doubt they can make it work like their original vision was. The MP will probably be quite watered down. Might be a good thing though. Razz

Most of the fans already forget how much time they spend working on that and their disastrous download client (that still is lacking compared to other download clients). To still be left with this... that should be rather unacceptable.

I must admit.. I would LOVE to see what every 'studio' connected to this 'game' are actually doing every day.

The sheer number of staff must mean the'yre working flat out to fix these bugs, and flesh out the main PU. We see Dev Diary type things plastered all over Twitter, Bug fix videos, all sorts.

So why do we NEVER SEE any of this in the actual Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre Alpha we're forced to endure?

I don't know about you, but I've always dreamed about owning a piece of l̶a̶n̶d empty virtual randomized polygons to raise a family and give a bright future to my grandchildren when the game will be released. Besides, this helps the developing team too since with the additional funds they can add even more features to the ones already available and perfectly functioning, win-win!

Isn't this so you can buy land to build a house or whatever?

Obviously they don't have the building mechanism in yet, but preordering is how they like to do things.

I guess they're running out of money... did the holy chris have another change in vision that plundered the bank account?

Very ballsy to introduce yet another pay item when the gaming crowd is fuming about crates and other shit.

how you find some positive spin / angle in news for this game..

You are literally buying a piece of land on a planet that means nothing to any players of the game.

There are plenty of stupid people who will buy this, which provide absolutely no difference to a regular player in the game.

The only thing I think Star Citizen is going to do wrong in terms of selling things is continue to sell ships after release. They claim they won't but I doubt it.
