Well they produce good music i can't deny that to be honest. And has decent lyrics but somehow i can't get a grasp on what's wrong with them really... Sellout or something, im more of a underground black metaller when i really listen to black metal.
My fav black metal must have been Enslavement of Beauty. I also enjoy Naglfar and some Old Man's Child. Not that it's so much underground but it's pretty good. But my true passion lies with Trash metal and Death follows shortly after.

Question to you wholehearted BM fans. Why do some BM bands seem to mix some sort of uhm racism with satanism? isn't that so wrong it can get? or am i just way under my knowlegde now?

i dunno, the satanism stuff doesnt really bother me cuz i dont believe in satan, as like an undergod or the devil etc
Satan is a myth created by man.
But, alot of it isnt really satanism. More like a dark side paganism...in a way. Some paths believe in duality - whats good can be evil and vise versa.
I believe God(s), whoever/whatever it is, is both good and evil. You fuck up, you get punished, simple as that.
None of this eternal damnation crap.

lol. We had a few of those kids at my high school. Kids that used to have their hair parted to the side and wear collared shirts and shit would come back from over the summer break and they'd be all metaled out with like Emperor shirts and boots and eyeliner and shit. Like they were just at Metal Boot Camp. lol

some black metal stuff is really great. I remember my first bm concert in 95. I went to see Morbid Angel and Moonspell and there were also Immortal playing that evening. I didn't listen to bm until this point and after the concert i layed my hands on several bm cd's from satyricon, Samael , later dissection, Emperor and a few other bands. Sometimes i think that i will listen to metal all my life. I also like pink floyd and other non-metal bands ....
but metal....it's in the blood i think
Nun, so soll es denn sein!

reiche mir Panzer und Gebein!
Zerschmettern will ich mit Hass!

Cradle of Filth is the fuckin shit! Ive been to like 5 of their shows in Toronto, awesome time. And Dani Filth is an amazing vocalist. He sounds better live than on cd, and thats something thats hard to pull off nowadays. Take slipknot for example, the singer sounds wicked on cd, but he cant scream like he does on cd when he's preforming live....so its not the same music, same intensity and shit.
CoF is awesome, I have all their records, from Principle of Evil Made Flesh to Nymphetamine (sp?)

hm, cradle....-
when it comes to cradle i'd say that cruelty and the beast was their finest album though i've stopped listening to them after the release of Midian.
Imho the best songs from them is "twisted nails of faith". Undoubtfully awesome bm - but i would not consider their newer stuff bm anymore

yeah, they're newer stuff is...meh, not the cradle i like. I dont mind it. But their early stuff, like of dark blood and fucking, nocturnal supremacy, presents from the poison-hearted, thirteen autums and a widow, the principle of evil made flesh (song) etc is beyond wicked...pure head banging, go nuts type of shit. I love it
Come on, tell me its not a badass song
The Principle of Evil Made Flesh
Cradle of Filth
Quote: |
From the primeval mass
Let precious chaos vent
Sacred flesh drenched in fornication
beloved of Set
may the winds gather her together
from the secrets of men
after thousands of years of terrifying silence
she comes again
(All Destroyer)
The abolition of the yeshua begins...
Shattered are the icons of the worthless
the Goddess scorned is a Valkyrie born
scattered are the wings of the virulent holy
leave their husks to be the prey of vultures and dogs
World without end
cherish the lissome wants of pernicious evil
dusk in her eyes
torn bloody weeping skies
darkness will hasten to devour
and the weak will flee or die
Sie sind es die sich
anderlieb festhalten
fur immer betend auf knien
vor der (finisteren) gotten
I slay the lamb in the fervour of thine
Abandonment unto Our Lady
With a quenchless thirst for the intinite
For Her that exists beyond all knowledge
Storming from tired centuries
Under the glare of a waxing death-moon
Terrible beauty of love severed
Rip the baby from virginal womb
The blood of Jesus
Is the wine of the dead
And the drunken angels
bleed with incest
The Liliot suckle on Her fruitful breasts
And yield the swords that sever and stain
There will be no act or passion wrought
That shall not be attributed to Her names
To the name of Baphomet:
Artemis, Bastet, Astarte
I yearn to thee who art darkness in thy rising

here's the translation if you are interested:
Sie sind es, die sich
an der Lieb festhalten,
für immer betend auf Knien
vor den finsteren Göttern
They are the ones who cling to love,
forever praying on their knees before
the darksome gods
Nun, so soll es denn sein!
Reiche mir Schwert und Wein,
reiche mir Panzer und Gebein!
Zerschmettern will ich mit Hass!
Ich, das schwarze Nass!!!
