summer? i dont think we had one this year (atleast not more than a week). rainy and cold since days

and yes ofc if the surroundings require a slower speed im totally fine with slowing down. we want to reach the destination and not one of the trees or maybe deers.and yes its not an autobahn. partly bundesstraße (federal road?!?) and landstraße (country road?!?). but both very well expanded and big. usually driving about 110km/h all the way. thats just the sweet spot for the fuel usage (and police is only controlling at one point about every three weeks, its not like im speeding. but i know the street, i know where deers could show up and where the road could be very slippery)

ofc im not driving (too) fast when its foggy like hell (basicly the last 20% of the distance the fog lays down very often with a view distance equaling zero and the early morning and evening; its basicly a small village directly behind a "mountain". thats the reason why it feels like three different climate zones. first one is where i live, half of the way i reach the "top" of the mountain range and going down on the other side again. its not that much, about 490m over the sea level. where i live its 140m and the workplace is about 300m)

but yes driving 80-90 instead of 100 over a longer distance (basicly half of the way is just one long road) is annoying. when im fast i need about 20 minutes for the way, normal time is about 25 minutes. last week i needed fucking 40 minutes cause there was absolutely no chance to overtake two fucking trucks and one most likely 90 year old person with his hat in the back of his mercedes driving fucking 70kmh (funny enough, always 70. didnt matter if it was 50kmh limit in a small town i drive through or the 1000m from that (60kmh limit) to the country road (100 kmh). also i had to brake down from 100 to 60 a few times the last week cause some idiots were overtaking in the opposite lane and i surely dont wanted to crash into them. and then they look stupid if i show them the wipers while honking at them. and thats just the top of the iceberg, so many situations lately where people cut me off or just turned without respecting my right of way so i needed to brake like an idiot. fucking idiots, thats the only good thing when i need to get to work very early -> roads are almost free

good tires are the most important part on your car, many people ignoring that and driving around with 30 year old ones which could almost work as slicks on a racetrack...

edit: oh and btw: nothing wrong about driving slower than the speedlimit, i do that often too when i have time (mostly when im working late and have no other plans for the night). but only when im not in front of any other person, and thats the twist here: if you dont hinder other people do whatever you want. but if you hinder them with driving too slow without a reason (which is btw a misdemeanor and results in a 20-35 euro ticket) its just a dickmove

110 on a landsväg? Very Happy Yeah, you would not see that here. Razz
But yes, you know the road and where there might be risks etc, the other drivers might not and are therefor perhaps way more careful (to a fault) than you are. I'm just trying to give an alternative perspective on this as I get mild road-rage now and then when driving as well (and I have to tell myself that perhaps the other driver is doing their stupid shit for a reason). Razz

Reaction

In the morning i'm often driving for an additional 15-30min (rarely even +45) to work, because of a retarded construction site before Wolfsburg Autobahn.

It's been like that for like 2 months now, and probably will stay so till the end of the year.

It actually was 110 on a small "landeveg" in Sweden (and probably northern roads with little to no vegetation near), 90 on the Norwegian side, and thats uncommong for narrow roads in Norway. Saw it on street view (yeah, the boredom is real! )

Norway: 80-90 kmt
Finland: 80-100 kmt
Sweden: 70-100 kmt

Maybe but then it's very rare to be honest as I have never seen one going above 90 here. As 110 (120 at most) are highway speeds here. Razz
