The DLC is out. HDR doesn't work. About 2 hours of content.

Destiny 2 locks content, that was previously accessible to people, behind its latest Curse of Osiris DLC
Quote:
Activision and Bungie have just released the Curse of Osiris DLC for Destiny 2. And according to reports, Bungie has locked some content that was previously available to people behind this new DLC.
Before the Curse of Osiris DLC, players were able to do the prestige Raid (hard mode raid), Nightfall (end-game strike with modifiers) and Trials (end-game PvP) on a weekly basis for rewards. However, these activities are no longer available to those that do not own the latest DLC.
This basically means that all three of the aforementioned activities have been moved to something like a DLC playlist. As a result of that, vanilla players can no longer access them.
The key point here is that this content has been locked from players that have already paid for it. This is precisely why gamers are against this so-called ‘service for games’. Locking people out from content they have already purchased is a really ridiculous and awful move.
I think the main issue is that a Xbox game is currently unable to be 100%ed without the DLC.
Pretty sure Microsoft doesn't allow that.

They don't. Tons of people have been requesting refunds from MS support and are being granted that refund. It's all over the subreddit right now.
Activision is probably pleased though.

Activision and Bungie’s Destiny 2 is well ahead of the highly engaging original Destiny on time spent per player and attach rate to the expansion pass,” reads Activision’s earnings release. “With the launch of the game on PC [on October 24], Destiny 2 is now ahead of the original game in consumer spend.

Destiny 2 had potential but they just fucked it up. Story was rather okay. But all the rest? Strikes that aren't really great or outstanding. Nightfall difficulty is just spongy mobs with a timer and trying the prestige one was so annoying. It's just speedrunning to the boss and kill it within the time limit, were a lot of people fail because they die too much.. Exoctics that are mostly useless. Legendary weapons most of them with useless perks or just not good.. Armor that was just pretty much only good for infusing your older gear. Rinse and repeat stuff (milestones) ugh.. And the fact that PVP in Destiny is so mediocre, lol. Haven't bothered with the raid yet tho. Will do it soonish..
DLC was meh too short and didn't add anything to the main story or whatever shitty story Destiny is about.. Oh well next content will prolly be the same boredom stuff I guess.
Maybe just maybe they'll get it right in the next expansion or in D3? Yeah right...
Yeah I'm quite disappointed too, and I really tried to give it a chance.
I'm not even sure what's exactly wrong with it... the itemization just lacks anything special, and it all feels way too grindy. The worlds are huge and nice looking, but at the same time it feels empty, with small enemy clusters randomly thrown everywhere, and very little reward.
The only positive thing is how nice the gunplay feels, very fast and direct... it's just a shame the fights are so small and predictable. Maybe if they went in a more Serious Sam route... with big fuckoff amounts of enemies everywhere, making the movement faster and everything more frantic.
Or maybe it's that the characters skills are so lackluster. I generally don't like these cooldown abilities that are like the MOBA concept with the Ultimate skill after a fixed amount of time.
It really is very similiar to Borderlands, which had worse gunplay and more bullet-sponge enemies, but for some reason kept me going longer and even replay it with different characters.
Edit: now that I think about it, that might actually be it. Lacklustre skilltrees and bad itemization. In Borderlands you too only had one skill on a cooldown, yet you could go down different specializations, which determined what weapons to choose. And in turn the items you equipped could significantly increase your proficiency in that skilltree.
In Destiny 2 it's just: here are 3 very similiar skills (grenade, jump, knife) and an Ult, and here are some items that reduce recoil a bit and increase life regen, oh, and if you find some legendary items, you can only equip one for armor and one for your weapons. Enjoy!
I think they should just throw PvP to the wind, it's a joke anyways. Then they could ignore balancing and allow me to equip more legendaries to become the overpowered ninja-spaceman I want to be.

someone calculated the money it would cost to buy everything in eververse would be like 10k usd .... or if u wanted to grind it out without money it would take as many minutes as half a year of playing 24/7 non stop ...
its the biggest scam of 2017 and anyone involved should be ashamed, hope the revolution wins, teach these cunt devs a lesson
bungie knows the math, activision knows the math, they deserve to be cast out of gaming forever, and fuck halo, it was never good to begin with , consolitis shit, unreal and unreal tournament wiped the floor with that xbox vomit

This makes Battlefront II look innocent in comparison, if true

Well, calculating those odds of getting everything and then making a huge fuss about it... think back to Diablo 2, to have the rarest runes in the game drop would also have taken years of constant play. I was multi-account botting that game for years and have never had a Zod rune drop.
But yeah, the taste would have been a lot different of those odds if there would have been a convenient ingame item-shop where you could have just bought them. That would have sucked.
