This if you just want some action and a cliche story, or SE4 if you like to play stealth and take your time to perfect your execution plan.

Wolfenstein 2 is pretty nice if you like story focused Action Adventure FPS, dunno about Sniper Elite i only ever played Zombie Army which was good mindless fun can't comment on 4 but then again since you are here why not isodemo both and decide for yourself?

Aww shucks, I already tossed a coin (literally) and SN4 won...
I'll get this next time (or after I've finished SN4). Very Happy

Both seem fun and my type of game, the games are so cheap now that I don't see any point for me to ISOdemo them (I only do that now on very few occasions).
Still, thanks for the tips and I'll give wolfenstein a go next. ^_^

If you haven't played Wolfenstein TNO already, i would play that first. As it's much better than TNC.

This is exactly what i am doing. I started TNC, but stopped on recommendation from a friend to play TNO first. The story and characters makes more sense now Smile

@Grale
Yea it's better to play it first for story reasons too - though i didn't even think about that part during my comment. Very Happy

I meant that the gameplay just felt more like a Wolfenstein game should be.
Like not cutscenes for a cliche story or spamming of "Oh Coraline.." that interrupt the gameplay constantly.

Also i think TNO had a better diversity for weapons.

The first DLC chapter for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will arrive on December 14, Thursday of this week!

The global unlock time for The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe is 7pm ET on December 13 worldwide. Once unlocked at that time, you'll be able to play the new content.

In our first DLC installment, you'll play as a former professional quarterback named Joseph Stallion, who will smash through Nazi hordes from the ruins of Chicago to the vastness of space.

The next two chapters of The Freedom Chronicles DLC will arrive in January and March of 2018, respectively.

Hah they never updated or closed the beta branch, opting out of that saw the patch download properly.

Also they fixed the lower res hand and weapon textures. Smile

Nothing, the previous version of the game wasn't supported either.
Though that was mostly a quick fix for a single issue with leaderboards and the challenge mode so using the old exectuable file (Which was the only file updated.) worked just fine.

In this case the update is likely vital for proper DLC functionality and it also fixes some bugs that while Machine Games haven't posted an actual changelog it definitively corrects the issue with low quality textures for the hands and gun models for one very noticeable difference just due to how blurry these were before.

I've been checking the Cs.Rin.Ru topic for some info but it doesn't seem like there's any newer version than the one from November 8th and that is just going to crash the game if it gets loaded.

It's also possible Machine Games made it less simple to unlock the restricted commands now to where some address changes in the ini file for this Legacy mod isn't going to cut it.
Hopefully since there's still two DLC packs to go and likely at least one or two more patches along with these the author of this utility will return and update it unless they completely removed the code from the public build of the game but that's usually very uncommon.

EDIT: Yeah still no patch notes, sometimes I wonder why some devs are so secretive about these things as it's a fictional video game made for entertainment, if you fucked up in a previous update why not just admit to that?
(Or fixed some long standing issue that was previously denied then found out to be true.)

I guess it's one thing if it's third party content such as Denuvo but there were other fixes and tweaks with this but yeah it's not like Bethesda or Machine Games are the only ones guilty of this.

Bit spoiled by ArmA and Bohemia doing a point by point build note for their dev updates too, having details like that would be really interesting but yeah "General performance improvements and bug fixes." to take that first note from Fallout 4 copy/pasted into every patch since the games release ha ha.

Eh I guess the publishers are more strict on some of these details and it's more corporate now and almost political at times and guarding yourself and what not or releasing vague PR statements from a person employed only for this purpose.

Anyways that has little to do with the game in general, just the way things are at the moment.

It sounds like one of the save files got affected.

C:\Users\Jonas\Saved Games\MachineGames\Wolfenstein II The New Colossus\base\savegame.user\NUMBERS

That's where those are stored.

Can you load from a earlier point or perhaps restart the last level you reached? (EDIT: No it doesn't sound like that works.)
The DLC isn't very long though but at worst you might have to start over.

Could also try to back a bit to C:\Users\Jonas\Saved Games\MachineGames\Wolfenstein II The New Colossus\base and rename the config file which is the .local one whereas the .cfg file only holds key bindings.

Depending on what is causing the crash it could also be unrelated to any of this and might be resolved by something like a reboot in case it was the graphics driver acting up but if the OS and other titles are stable and it's just this game and just that DLC when trying to continue your progress then it's likely the save data and it simply crashed when it was auto saving.

Hopefully without also affecting the actual game profile files since those have the overall progress, unlocks and general game settings stored in them.

For future reference backing up these files can be helpful, not as bad with games letting you save manually but those fuckers only giving you a single autosave can be a real problem if the data gets damaged such as from a application crash.

EDIT: And just to be clear this is with game version .1330 right?
(Meaning you do have the latest update installed and not just the DLC files, game exe should say product version 6.5.0 and .1330 if so.)

I have used all the patches of codex(and yes there are version 6.5.0.1330. I always backup my saves, but it happen in one session. That with the .config file didn't work either. I can still go to the the base game.

Wonder if it could be a game bug, I haven't played the DLC episode myself as I'm waiting for the others to be released and seeing if there's going to be another patch and then I can finish up the game completely but it sounds like something is acting up.

So everything else is working but trying to load the Joe DLC progress is just breaking and causing the game to crash. I don't think it'd be the crack either, that just bypasses the Steam client requirement and doesn't modify any actual game files since Bethesda didn't implement anything extra.

And if it was the profile file that should affect overall stability and the main game too since far as I'm aware these are shared.

Crash log and any dumps are probably just smaller memory dumps taken by the game, they might not be that useful either in tracking down why the game is crashing.

For example, his original review for ruiner was more interested in pointing out some soshul and gender aspects from the game that the developer's name wasn't mentioned once.

Network Programmer

MachineGames is looking for an excellent Network Programmer to strengthen their growing team.

Responsibilities

-Work with other engineers to architect and refine game systems and online features related to online games (client-server networking optimization, integration with backend services, etc...)

-Debug, monitor, test and optimize networking layer for bandwidth, memory and cpu performance

-Cooperate with other engineers, designers, artists and other personnel to solve cross disciplines issues

Wolfenstein 3rd Reich now with Blazko and Hitler co-op against the Neo-Nazis of the 2000's ? Razz

(Well it's probably going to be the crew from NC but still, mechanized senile A.H could have been a thing ha ha.)
(Though the game will need a end boss so.)

I don't think we have a generic thread for Machine Games or Wolfenstein as a franchise though it's too early to say much for the future of MG but it looks like whatever they are going to do next will have a online mechanic of sorts. Smile

Might even be a original IP or they're getting their hands on some other long dormant 90's - 2000's franchise, someone's going to have to do Quake 5 I guess and Raven isn't around this time.

Could be anything though but there are some remaining plot holes in Wolfenstein Machine Games edition too so that would be my guess and then either traditional online play or co-op.
(With a option to buy premium Nazi Gold currency for displaying your superiority to other players, eh probably won't be that bad.)
