@Bob Barnsen: The A1200 was quite upgradable so did you ever buy any hardware upgrades for yours?
I know Motorola processors like the 020 in the A1200 get a big speed boost just by adding fast ram so I'm glad mine came with some already installed.

The only upgrades i did back then were another floppy drive, and some more RAM.
No other fancy stuff Very Happy

Also at least in Germany the classic Amigas are "sadly" still no that rare. Out of pure interest i checked prices and availability for the 1200 some days ago on Ebay. And for around 300€ you can rather easily find ones in also very good condition and often with some crazy extra hardware stuff.

Your A1200 upgrades sounds similar to my A500 upgrade history.
I gave it a bit of ram (1MB) and a Diskdrive back in the early 90ties Very Happy

Surprisingly there is still some serious hardware being made for the Amiga.

You ever heard of the Vampire accelerators?
That stuff is mind blowing when you compare it to our mildly upgraded Amiga's Shocked

No i never heard of thse Vampire accelerator.
Sounds pretty cool, though i would never pay the asked 300€ for it.

Also i will keep my Amiga mostly for nostalgia reasons. If i have the desire to play some of its games in the future, i will do so via an emulator.
I plan to build some Retro Machine with maybe a Rasperry Pi and then just put all the games from a variety of systems on it. It's much more comfortable than swapping disks or other mediums all the time - and the little platine probably also runs all games better than their originals. Very Happy

Cat.exe? And I guess that resin must have really brittle seeing all those pieces. Thought plaster or metal was used for the more expensive ones though I guess it varies.

A few hours and a bit of glue though. Smile

EDIT: Actually probably not a cat, unless the statue was placed high on a shelf and you were standing right below it.
(It's nice and all to help my sister take care of the cats when she's out, bit less nice waking up by a flower pot missing your head by a few centimeters and said cats sitting near the window looking all indifferent heh.)

EDIT: Geralt's head looks like it made it out OK though. Smile

Oh right there's that stuff too, proving it's broken.

I thought Australia had pretty good consumer and customer protection policies though but I guess import goods could be problematic even with these.

One piece was snapped off when it arrived, so in order to get a replacement I had to wait 9 weeks. I said no thanks and asked for a refund (they were being assholes about it). They consider sending it back and paying $200 'too much' so I had to smash it with a hammer and provide proof that every piece was broken

Wasn't worth the price anyway so I was glad

Well for that price ... I'd perhaps pay $200 for it but no more.

Yep.

How big is (was) the statue? Like 40-50cm?

If i were going to paying 1000$ for a statue, it has to be in lifelike size.

Sometime in the near future i plan to create one myself. With the help of one of those mannequin figures and a high(er) quality costume, where you don't see the face. Like a nice Stormtrooper for example.

Damn.

It looks like both Triss and Yennefer statues are delayed to February and June respectively.
Pretty sure original date on both of them was November-December time frame.
