Where would I get the armor? level 1 traders don't sell armor. I have one low tier armor I managed to loot from some random guy but no helm

Scavs can spawn with the armor and the helmet aswell. So looting them.

"Can" is very vague to be honest and i've personally never seen a Scav with a helmet so I imagine it's pretty rare. As I said I have found PACA armor on a scav I killed but the problem is that to be able to do something and make some progression you shouldn't have to depend on finding some rare armor.
Do you see the difference between me setting aside let's say 50k roubles for a run and setting aside something I need a lot of luck and time to find? Money I can slowly grind but without trader access it's barely useful as the items being sold is very limited.

You can also just trade with other players for the stuff, easiest solution. Plenty of people selling all the quest items, including forts and kivers.
Heck, I'll give you a free kiver if you want.
EDIT: And bring me 7 gold chains and I'll give you a fort too.

what's the objective? kill everyone on your way out of the map?
how do you form a group?
who wants to play together?
how does the secure container work?
do you loose the container when you die?
how does insurance work?
I just run to the border then follow it until I get to an extraction point..

Basically just survive on your way out with as much loot as you can carry. No "need" to kill people, but it's a kill-or-be-killed situation most of the time (every time with scavs if you play as your PMC character).
I play alone, but I've seen people with LFG tags in the chat window, and I've seen videos with people squadding up.
I might give it a try. Try adding 'Hmuda' if there's a friend list or something.
Everything inside the secure container is...well...secure. If you die, everything inside is safely extracted. Very handy to put maps, keys, or task-sensitive stuff inside.
Nope, the secure container and your melee weapon are the only things you don't actually lose upon death. Which is why you can see a lot of people with a single hatchet running around (people seem to call them "hatchlings" ). Spawning with just that gear guarantees a 100% risk-free excursion. Very unlikely to succeed, but if successful, it can be very lucrative.
Insuring stuff will give you a chance of recovery if you die. If people pick them up, it's lost, but if they are still in the game-world when the raid ends, you'll get it back after a little while of "recovery-time". I've seen people stashing stuff in bushes that they insured when things get hairy, hoping nobody loots them. Something I REALLY need to start doing more often. I lost a lot of good stuff when I got shot in the gut and dehydrated half-way to the extraction.

Tried the beta for a few hours (got the 7 day key) and all i can say is that i'm glad i didn't buy it.
It has potential, there is no denying that, but right now, in the current state the game is nowhere near worth the money they're asking for.
It runs bad, cca 40-45 fps on high settings except shadows on uItra because otherwise it looks terrible (even on ultra shadows are damn ugly). There are a lot of graphical bugs going on and gameplay is still very far from a smooth experience.

Played this a bit.
First map I entered I died due to wound bleeding; second time I extracted at 'old gas station' and I didn't keep anything I found on map (due to BETA game status, I assume).
Game looks... depressing. Both due to the 'artistic' direction AND the 'downgraded' ugly graphics. I think STALKER looked (looks) better than this, even at this time.
Overall I like it and I think it's worth giving it a chance, but only when the game will be TRULY finished - probably in a year or two. If they keep developing OFFLINE mode (as they claim now) and fix the performance / graphics, I might even consider buying this.

Offline mode will not be there on release, it will be gone. It's only there now for testing.
Thank god for that, this game doesn't need PVE shit modes in it.
