Apparently, a way to load "backups" on 1.76 jailbreak is out.. for the long term it might be good news if the private 4xx kernel exploit will be released.

The 5.00 exploit is NOT the same thing as 4.05...
5.00 exploit Kernel is real but private for the time being.
the 4.05 kernel was found already year a go.. but patched because the hackers that found it disclosed it to Sony.. but Failoverflew decided to finally release it to the public.

I severly doubt the hdd contains the fw or require any updates in order to be changed. Why dont you just disconnect from the net if you're worried about something like that?

since news broke about 4.05 im now in a dilemma if should i buy now an older console version or just wait a little longer for (IF) a new firmware exploit release.
i feel like if i dont buy now and no future firmware exploit gets release then there are slim chances to ever find an old console version.
not to mention that the more i wait the more people find out about 4.05 and stocks gets depleted very fast even if the consoles are a bit more expensive than the new bundles.
i think this 4.05 was the last public released exploit and all future ones are private and who knows if they will ever get released.
anyone here jumped on the bandwagon?

the good exclusives below 4.05 can be counted on one hand, sadly.
another question though: is there any advantage in getting and hacking a 4.05 console now and updating it later to a newer cfw (if, for example, a 5.x exploit gets released), or would any new firmware need to be exploited "from the ground up" anyway to be able to update a hacked console to it? or in other terms, is there any point in getting a <4.05 console instead of waiting if i want a pro and all dat 4.07+ game goodness?
