How did you guys dodge the VAT tax? I'm on a Swiss VPN, trying to pay via Paypal, but XSOLLA is giving me error code 2002.

First map I entered I died due to wound bleeding; second time I extracted at 'old gas station' and I didn't keep anything I found on map (due to BETA game status, I assume).
Game looks... depressing. Both due to the 'artistic' direction AND the 'downgraded' ugly graphics. I think STALKER looked (looks) better than this, even at this time.
Overall I like it and I think it's worth giving it a chance, but only when the game will be TRULY finished - probably in a year or two. If they keep developing OFFLINE mode (as they claim now) and fix the performance / graphics, I might even consider buying this. |
Stalker looks depressing as well doesn't it?
I think the graphics are beautiful. Just wait till there's proper AA and optimization in the game.

I tried a bunch of things simultaneously so not sure which one solved it but from the ones I tried the safest bet is switch from Chrome to Firefox and see if it makes a difference.

No need to act like fanbois, 'men', as I like the game, despite it's alpha-looking STALKER visuals.
I personally wasn't looking for competitive 'game'play, as, unlike others, I've plenty of this in RL. Was simply hoping some similar STALKER experience with 'enhanced' gameplay and replay value...
Here's some majestic graphics here (all maxed out):

The lowest I could find was using Luxembourgh VPN, like 17% vs my 24% or something.

Get Reshade for some color and SMAA ASAP.
Also can't you disable that retarded CA?

So you cry about foggy/rainy weather looking like that? Go play Woods or something during daytime and take another.

Put in a few hours and I have mixed feelings. Game seemed amazing looking at streamers like Kotton and Devildog, but having played it... well.
On one hand, the overall athmosphere is amazing and the raids are truly heart pumping, all boasted by great sound design, which is absolutely phenomenal. The map design is brilliant. I needed to take a few breaks here and there to actually calm down. This is a first for me as I was usually pretty chill when gaming. It's a unique experience, I'll give it that. You can feel the weight of making every move, listening to every rustle.
But at the same time, it's so frustrating. This might be one of the most hardcore shooters in existance and I think I'm too much of a casual for this shit. You do a three 10min raids, so it seems, but then it turns out that 2h have flown by. I put in probably 15h by this point and I still feel like a fucking noob.
Getting fucking aimboted by scavs is pure frustration. I was camping on customs in the train overlooking east spawn area, fully prone without making a move. I see a scav, I slowly start to aim and then he does a 90deg turn and starts sending bullets my way. Same on factory, I see a scav, take aim thinking he does not see me. Then he does a rapid turn and blows me to pieces. They have a way to wide FOV and too short of a reaction time.
I don't think I've ended a raid on factory. Only one run as a scav, where probably I was the only player left in the game.
Game runs ok on my setup (i3 4360, 8gigs, R7 265) but the graphics are not too impressive. They actually remind me of .... Dying Light.
I'll check out the open beta when it hits, but right now I'll hold back on spending any money. But I'll probably stick to playing casual shit.

Scavs actually yell before they will shoot you, so if you hear them talking, they have some sort of idea about you or something.
You have like 2 seconds to react or something before they shoot you after they notice you.

Well if you compare the graphics to other games, it looks bland i guess. But to me the way the game looks while moving and figthing, effects, the trees swaying and everything not looking clearly as a fucking flying flat 2d texture, to me it feels good, it looks good. The AA is shit indeed, but i feel the game has such an ambient. Maybe i just get too much into it, but to me it really puts me in another place playing this game.

Probably been answered already, but what their plan with stash sizes? Are they going to be extendable or is there a way to increase the stash size ingame?
