oooh.. i get it. never even thought about that. thats why they shortened the season episode count.
they can still make however many hours of story.. but by trimming down to 7 eps and then 6 in the last season i think it was, theyre saving millions by not having to pay the actors for those extra eps. they still work as hard, and shoot as many scenes, just get paid about 3 million+ each less than they would have just for the two main asshole characters.

i sit 1m away from a 42 inch, and i still use 720p, heck webrips of 200meg still are fine on non fast moving series
You're not wrong, but at the same time if you're a PQ and audio buff like yours truly, you tend to appreciate the bump on quality. I have a 42" 1080p TV and let me tell ya, 2m away I can see the difference between 720p and 1080p
there is a report somewhere that if u sit at 2 or more meters away from ur screen a human cant tell the difference between 4k and full hd ...
It depends on the screen size but yes, overall its true unless you have a really damn big tv.
For a distance of slightly above 2 meters you already need atleast a 60" 4k TV, otherwise you are wasting money.
