Yeah, last week it was deemed almost impossible that BTC would go down to 10k, and here we are. Fuck, I need to get into the futures asap..

when ur technology inept family at the xmass table starts talking bitcoin, u know the bubble is going to crushdept and implode real fast in everyones faces
the price increase is sooo perfectly timed with the holidays and thanks giving, i dont bilieve in coincidence and am a firm biliever the few big coin holders/farmers are in on it together deliberatly pushing the price up to dump them in batches now and cash out stealing a ton of money ou of the economy and selling off their hardware n dissapearinga with a chunk of the worlds money
no new value was created, all that happened was little bits of money of a ton of suckers ending up in rich peoples pcokets yet again, and it was the suckers themselves suckering in their relatives and family members like a real pyramid scheme

Dogecoin is going up because you'll be able to buy other soins with it. Sit on it for awhile longer, but do sign up for exchanges.
Here's a list of exchanges with DOGEcoin:

I also still have an LTC wallet (with very little in it) I could trade the XDG to LTC as well, and then sell the LTC. This should enable more exchanges for paying out EUR.
But which one of those then do you recommend? The EU based Litebit and Anycoin sit in NL, they have closed registrations. And do they all require the same amount of verification hassle for the sign up process? (even just for selling?)

Kucoin is a new crypto exchange and is still accepting users. They even have Kucoin shares which give users dividends each day, depending on the anoubt of shares they own. The dividends come from the trading commissions the exchange takes from trades. They're also adding new coins very quickly.
In case anyone wants to join Kucoin, i'd appreciate it if they did it with my referral link: https://www.kucoin.com/#/?r=1ssM1
If not, here's the vanilla link:

I registered using your referral. So far it does not trade the coins I need though.
I'm still looking for exchange recommendations LTC and DOGE to EUR. I registered on a couple other sites in the meantime, but they either don't have the currencies I need or have some complex verification procedures that are all defunct at the moment

You can sell LTC for money on Coinbase: https://www.coinbase.com/
You'll have to sell DOGE for BTC/ETH/LTC then transfer it to Coinbase and sell to get the money out of it. But as I said, I'd keep DOGE as it'll rise. It's becoming THE coin to buy shitcoins with.
EDIT: You'll likely need to upload verification documents for any exchange which lets you transfer money to it or from it.

It's not just likely, you must do that.
I tried to register on Coinbase a few weeks ago and waited if they were gonna ask me for those documents. Which they did.
Afterwards i decided to go to Bitstamp, as Coinbase seems to be going down sooner or later anyways if you read news about them lately.

Was it always such a pain in the ass with verification or is this a recent development? I only ever mined coins (years ago) so I never had anything to do with exchanges.
I have a couple hundred euros in doge, just want to get a handle of the exchange part and how transactions work. Gonna hold the rest anyway. So that I at least extracted something in case it all comes down after all.

I'm pretty sure most of the time you have to do those verification steps on legit exchange platforms - especially if you also want to sell currency.
I was hesitant at first, because Bitstamp also wants a proof of residence at registration.
I had to google first, to see how legit they really are.
But as they are basically acting as a bank, that stuff is legit and necessary.

Coinbase verified me really quickly after I uploaded photo ID. Then I could buy pretty much straight away

Unfortunately didn't back ripple, the hype is from it getting backed by several big banks as far as I remember. I do have many of the other alts though particularly currencies where the technology actually solves a problem which i find many of the hyped up ones don't do.
While i think bitcoin at present is useless and potentially dead in future, I think there will be potential big dollars in all the reputable altcoins for some time. Some of the alts I like, you can read further about if interested.
golem - An ethereum token, currency tied with distributed idle compute power.
neo - chinese ethereum.
factom - similar to ethereum.
steem - social media orientated currency.
ethereum - blockchain based application platform.
siacoin or swarm / storage related currencies. - mined by supplying storage space to massive distributed network. 10x cheaper than AWS S3.

Bitcoin won't ever die in the next years.
Now with BCH there already was a rather successful fork implemented.
Also i don't think how many people are active in the Bitcoin business, that won't let it die .

Yes fortunately got into the BCH, as a technology its vastly superior to bitcoin and hoping for bitcoin millionares make the switch over. Personally see BCH and gold to be completely new currencies, teams, projects etc.. (i don't lump them in the same catagory).
Also I'm finding exchanges now allow you to completely avoid BTC which was not the case in the past.. imagine if you could only buy stock if you had to buy apple stock first, very retarded. Makes no sense for the price to be so high for something so inferior to its cheaper counterparts.

Maybe..
Although If you ignore the investment factor and focus solely on what the technology can do. There is the potential to disrupt much of the IT and financial industries, look at storage based currencies for example. You can host your spare storage and earn coins for doing so, as a consumer you get private, redundant, decentralized, multi-region storage 100x cheaper than amazon charge you for S3. To me it makes no sense to have a handful of companies monopolizing storage in warehouses when you could leverage all the spare storage, compute etc of everyday users around the world to provide the same thing.
This stuff excites the non-conformist in me a lot, thr technology enables everyday people to participate and earn money building services like AWS, Azure or google would provide. The same applies to the financial industry, where rather than these blood sucking massive corporations the same service can be distrubuted amongst the people that use it.

Bitcoin makes no sense at the moment for actual purchases. If you go to pay with bitcoin at checkout, by the time you complete checkout the price of bitcoin already changed significantly
