Xbox media center..i have XBMC CVS 11 24 05 and its working like a charm with a lot of options and features

Depends if you're using the stock hard drive or not. I suggest you get slayers auto installer.

Is your hard drive a stock hard drive and have you got your xbox networked up to the pc?

XBMC is the preferred choice for everything on the xbox nowadays IMO.
Dash, media player, you name it.
As for SlaYers AutoInstaller it is kinda outdated nowadays so I suggest using Auto Installer Deluxe latest version (2.11 or whatever it could be) if you are going to use autoinstallers.
If I am not mistaken someone has compiled and released a XBMC install disk to not to long ago. Might be worth a shot.
