+1

I really had to hold myself back for all this time. But I really didn't want to "spoil" too much of the game in advance.

Glad it's finally out of EA.

Any fun in VR?

I've only tried it for 30 mins, this was more than a year ago probably.

VR is wicked fun, and motion sickness can be adapted to in about half an hour. At first it was really nauseating (first game I played relatively long-term in VR), but after a while it became a barely noticeable occurrence, when I happen to make some sudden/jerky turns while swimming, but given the setting of the game it was kinda immersive. Very Happy

Personally I played with KB/M while leaning a bit forward in my chair (controller felt fine too, BTW). Leaning back made swimming straight down impossible, and standing...that's pretty much out of the question, I'd fall over after 2 seconds.

There are issues, mainly the HUD, some parts are obscured by the crappy FOV that you couldn't change for UI elements the last time I checked. Subtitles, notifications, etc were completely outside the FOV.

But what sells it is the scale of things. You just cannot appreciate how colossal Reefbacks are until you swim along one in VR.

Not that I know of. But I don't think there'd be much space to make it work anyhow. Apart from swiping your finger in the PDA, but even that would be kinda shitty without some haptic feedback.

Some joystick support would make more sense when piloting the different vehicles, but even that would be very situational.

doing a swim motion to move forward would be a good workout after a while, no? obviously with the possibility for backstroke swimming (i think its called in English) when you change the direction of your motion) Very Happy

Personally I got around 85 hours in already.

And this was back in early development some years ago, so not much story content. Very Happy
Now it is time to discover what it is all about Smile

Just keep checking the messages on your radio (in the escape pod, but also you can build one inside your bases). At first it will direct you towards less-fortunate escape pods, but later on shit starts hitting the fan. If you read the logs, it can be an interesting story, but nothing mind blowing. One tends to play this one for the very imaginative biomes, creatures and cave-environments. The story is just there to make you go deeper and deeper.

You mean the radiation leak? Not really ASAP, but the Aurora has some really neat things to loot and scan (Prawn suit for one), so might as well fix the leak while you're there so you can equip a better swimsuit later and ditch the radiation suit.

Yeah, as much as it creeps me out half the time (playing on speakers instead of headphones helps a little ) it's easily one of the most enjoyable games i've played in a long time.
bought it long ago in early access but due to issues with saves every few patches i decided to just wait it out, worth :>
