I've always had a hard time killing animals and monsters in games. I particularly dislike killing big creatures and monsters, like unique dragons etc..
"Yay! i killed off this species who did me nothing except acting out of fear/instinct!" ...i can't relate to it. I much prefer killing off humans or human-looking things. That i can relate to, at least somewhat
I know its just a game etc, but it would be the same with killing off children in a game, i would find that very off-putting and not really possible to relate to.
Monster Hunter: World Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said that microtransactions don’t make any sense for Capcom’s game, as it could cause friction among players and disrupt or dilute the core monster slaying experience.
There's something that doesn't click with me and this game, i tried the beta but the game doesn't function like a real single-player story based game, i mean wtf is there a time limit
in an open-world game? do i need to rush things? that's just no fun.
The 20 minute time limit is quite annoying. I do hope it's back to the series standard 50 on release, where looking around and gathering things is something you want to do..
I’m enjoying this game. At the moment I’m sticking to playing the game solo and some of the monsters pretty challenging. I read that the monsters HP multiplies with 2,3 and 4 players. I just arrived at the Coral Highlands after about 17 hours play so far with the first session being a time flying 13 hours and am almost Hunter Rank 5! I want to get that time limited Horizon Zero Dawn Aloy unlock and Palico armour!
Same. I'm trying to enjoy it but not happening. Gave up after 2-3 hours. Got real boring very fast of doing the same thing over and over again.
Guess it's not for me.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I'm enjoying it, it's my first monster hunter title, so far i haven't gotten bored with about 15 hours in. The environments grow on you, as you explore them quite a few times during most quests, i like the pace it sets, and it's steadily adding more and more elements to the core gameplay to make it feel complex.
To address a few concerns from above, there's an expedition mode where you can explore for as long as you want, it's basically freeroam and you can do it at any time, as for the 50 minute time limit, i find it enough to even hunt 2 beasts, and take a leisurely stroll around for bounty items. Can't say i've felt pressed for time so far.
Performance is good on the pro, running it in 4k, seems to run around 40-50 fps, with the occasional spike to 60 in less crowded areas. I'm impressed that the game doesn't seem to lag when fighting the monsters, might be some other creatures getting despawned? Not sure, nevertheless performance feels much better than bloodborne, for example.
The game gets a lot better the more I play. Fighting large monsters is super fun compared to low-level trash.
Yesterday died twice back to back while trying to kill a large monster.
I didn't get into customization/crafting much yet. Finding it little overwhelming.

Played about 45 hours and have Hunter Rank 12. Just unlocked the high rank quests and finally getting good materials to make some sweet weapons. My Zorah Magdaros hammer is wicked good fun! I also have the awesome private quarters room complete with roaring open hearth fire and outside pond!
The next Horizon Zero Dawn-themed event quest for Monster Hunter: World will be called The Proving. While Capcom has yet to reveal the exact details of the quest, they did confirm that it will involve players having to find and hunt down a giant Anjanath. Players will also have to reach Hunter Rank 11 or higher before they’re able to accept the quest.
The Proving quest will begin later this month on February 28, and will run through March 5. Completing the quest will reward players with materials they can use to craft Aloy’s bow and armor, and equipping the armor will also change your appearance to look like Aloy, regardless of what your character’s gender might be.
Yes! I already got the watcher armour for my Palico
