And to think that this is a 25$ game...
It's just insane how much fun this is to play.

Probably a year since I last played and it feels like collecting blueprints is much easier now, same with silver which used to be a pain in the arse early on. Great game.

I never was interested in this game expecting another "grind stuff to craft somewhat better stuff'" kinda shit, but damn the game gets so much praise all over the net.

Yeah, same here. Usually I'm not really attracted to these type of games, but there is so much praise and good reviews that I just yarred it to check it out.

Fuck yeah. Managed to kill a Ghost Leviathan (juvenile) by going rodeo on his ass with my prawn (grappling + drill). Now I dare pass in my cyclops to go even deeper.

It was exactly the same for me as well, I'm usually not a fan of this type of craft-a-ton-oriented gameplay (I like it only in small doses ), but somehow this game has managed to click the right buttons for me. It's mostly thanks to the unique setting and quality atmosphere (also in terms of pure visuals and sounds, both well-done) and the rewarding sense of exploration where you need to know your limits and try to push them in order to disclose what the world has to offer.
The core mechanics are not particularly original and you definitely have to do repetitive tasks, though the game's matryoshka structure, useful building opportunities and the sense of mystery coming from the underwater environment (with its inhabitants) make up for that and magically manage to keep the exploration interesting for many hours.

little TIP for a more stable framerate..
Start the game with " -window-mode exclusive"
This will run the game in FULLSCREEN EXCLUSIVE mode..Before it was borderless windowed or something..
it does run better now..
But still it eats my Ram for breakfast..
speaking of wich, i also usually DONT like these survíval games, but this is different for me and the "grinding" does NOT feel like grinding, its part of the exploration..so im damn fine with this..

It's more close to 2.5kmx 2-2.5km.
You can easily check this if you get teleported from the ALien facility Island to the Floating Island because that distance is roughly 2500 meters in itself.

Almost done with the game, only have to do one more thing
Spoiler: | Cured the infection and now just have to build the stupid rocket, not that its that important. |
Overall a very good game, took me like 30 hours to beat it ( didnt build much, only stuff I needed like deep diving modules for cyclops/prawn etc ). Endgame zone is fucking awesome though and the atmosphere as a whole made me shiver some times.

I think that's another thing to consider, unlike other "Open world" games, this is a 3-dimensional playfield and not a 2-dimensional one. This is basically 2.5 by 2.5 by 2km big playfield.

Tons of other MMO and co-op crap out there, good to heat that this one is made for solo play. And also seems really good from what people are saying so far.

If he had listened to the people asking for multiplayer the game would be another early access bullshit. Instead, he announced that there will never be multiplayer and focused on the single player.

And right he is. No need for another grief fest of an early access shit game. There are enough of those out already.

I love how areas you start off scared shitless in, start feeling like home. Love my Lost River base now. So many resources of all kinds around. Just no creepvine.. so I can't make a bed or medkit dispenser without going back to the surface (and I really don't want to, being so close to the deepest point).
Warpers stay assholes though. Good lord I hate them. I prefer having a Ghost Leviathan around over Warpers.

Warper killed my first seamoth in like 5 seconds flat. Guess he was pissed I kept evading his shots so he just appeared in front of me, grabbed the my little Sub and ripped it apart. Fucking assholes.
You can grow creepvine in alien containment modules or outdoor growbeds. So there you go, everything you need at the big tree.

Yeah, I had some growing in my main base, same for both kinds of mushrooms, gel sacs and the blood trees, but I forgot to take the creepvine with me.
Finished it now tho. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Been a while since I finished a game, I usually get distracted, so that says something (no, not that it's short).
