Not sure if i'm stuck, but i'm not getting any new radio calls since the first two pods.

Am i supposed to find something in that huge cave of the first call? Went in there two times, but everytime O2 is getting low before i can explore everything.

Do you get signals to the alien/Degasi bases? I think I saw it in one of the videos Jingles is doing on this game, but wasn't sure if maybe he used a beacon.
I finally found all things in the 2nd Degasi base under the floating island, at -500m (it has 2 separate sections...), but I never got any signals to go there (same with base in the mushroom cave), just found it by accident/searching online.

The only clue I have left is some rough directions to the alien research facility, to (maybe) find a cure for the infection, but I had this clue since I found the base with the giant gun.

You should. I found pretty much everything just through following the radio messages and the subsequent looted PDA's. One of the lifepods guides you to the island with the Degasi surface bases. Then, through PDA's, you get the waypoints to the next (jelly caves, 250m or so) and the next from there (where you are, so technically the 3rd base at 500m).

The point where it stops giving you waypoints is when you have to go to the 700m+ areas. You have clues in your PDA of course, but no more waypoints.

Thanks! I guess I have everything then.

It seems that the clue you get from the island for the next base is for the one at 500m. (talks about a suitable area a couple of 100m straight down). But it's quite a jump in difficulty, considering you get to the island after an hour playing, but 500m requires a Seamoth with MK2 upgrade.

I found the orange tablet there, which is apparently required to continue, so I'm not stuck yet Smile
The base in the mushroom/jelly cave had no real clue it appears, only story elements?

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

@Il_Padrino @Airbag
Thanks for the infos. Will try checking out the pods once more if i missed something.
Though i doubt it, and probably have to use some guide to point me to the next area. Sad

Haha yeah, I've built mine in one of the brightest and safest spots near the surface that I could find at ~800m from the pod, with the most intimidating creatures around being a colony of farting Gasopods Very Happy Laughing

There's already such a gripping tense atmosphere during the various explorations in the depths that whenever I get home I must feel comfortable and eat my marine snacks in peace. If only there was a TV in the style of GTA it'd be perfect Razz
I'm also going completely blind (as per usual), the upgrades/crafting are always very straightforward but the sense of reward is constantly high since if one plays smart there's no need to grind, which is nice.

No, i never found any island. Surprised
And yes the Aurora had one big explosion. It's still there though, don't know if it's supposed to disappear after that?

No it just becomes available for exploration owning to it being opened like a tin can now. Razz
(Doesn't hurt to prepare a bit though before trying to breach the thing but the game kinda outright says this.)

Any island area should be off to the distance in a sort of fog or cloud effect hinting at something being there so go and explore. Very Happy

Well, just started playing again and shortly after i got a new radio message. grinhurt
Though it was just another one from that Sunbeam crew heading for Aurora and no new marker.
I guess i have to process through some more ingame days to get more messages.

But i really need some base now, as my pod storage, inventory and the waterproof locker outside are filled to the max. So exploring now is really just a waste as i can't really pick anything up. Crying or Very sad

Make sure you pick up (and read) at least 1 PDA at each pod, and try to find blueprints and data boxes near wrecks (data boxes contain unique blueprints, not sure if they are required to continue for the story).
Once you get the marker for the captain's pod, you're off (you go to the island next and you can scan buildings for your base there).

To start with just build a corridor and fill it with storage lockers and a fabricator. As soon as you find the multipurpose room you're good to start making a base proper.

The stacking fish tanks are great, think mine is 6 high now, with my office on top poking out of the water for a nice view Very Happy

Well this game is fucking addictive now that they added a story to keep you going. The whole alien angle is REALLY well done - by only giving tiny morsels of info, it drags you along. This would honestly make a really good movie plot (of course they'd have to add a female character with a skin tight diving suit) or even a plot for a series.

I usually hate survival crap but this game is thoroughly awesome.
Now I built my base all the way up with one room being above water level, so I can have some stress relief watching the aurora burn in between the PTSD inducing 900m dives. Everything Went Better Than Expected

I'm liking the game, it's very well made. I made some tools and collected some shit, got my second distress call. What kills my enjoyment atm is the storage management. Having to go back every five minutes to manage inventory space is pissing me off. Some things taking four slots is ridiculous. What am I supposed to do? I have two of those floatable storages lockers, but going back and forth between them to craft something is also pissing me off Sad

Not as much as it used to be. I haven't played with the new Cyclops yet but I heard if you're not running around with it like a sheep, into hundreds of predators it should be nearly invincible. Especially with the shield, by turning off power and moving it once attacked etc.

From what I read on other forums, you still need a small base (or maybe a couple of hubs would be better) to recharge your power cells (because when you recharge them in your sub, it logically drains power from your sub's active power cells).

I hate Cyclops, for me it's useless. Slow, not really maneuverable, eats batteries like old whore cocks. Swimming silent attracts predators anyway.

I used it only to transport my Prawnsuit to my cave base. And had to ditch the Cyclops half way through because it was attacked by "crabtopus" and get stuck in smaller openings...
And if you don't have some upgrades - fucking fires...

Seamoth for the win.

You have the option to get your Sub into stealth mode, basically turning it off, predators will leave after a certain amount of time. Then you can get away safely or you run off in the first place if they're small and if you have plenty of space to move.

I never had a problem with the Cyclops.

Even though it was a bit clunky in small spaces, it was fine if I used the cameras to help maneuver. I thought it was a really handy mobile base so I could just drop the prawn, drill and clear the cargo space right away without returning to base. Never used the Seamoth after getting the Cyclops.

Never had any big problems with monsters either. Stealth running is basically invisibility ( which is funny, because they apparently couldn't see a huge sub running quietly, but the moment a little guy stepped out of the sub they spotted him immediately Laughing ). Even if I did get caught, efficient use of the shield guaranteed I almost never took any damage and never spent any serious amount of power either because you just have to click it on just when the monster is about to hit, and turn it off immediately until it's about to hit again. Never had to put out fires during my whole playthrough.

But how can you tell when creatures are about to attack? I have no 360 degree vision with that thing.

And maneuverability is a problem. But I think to a good degree. It only makes sense that a huge sub supposedly operated by 3 people is going to be a bit clunky for one person and narrow passages Very Happy

Though I'm not particularly sure what the other 2 are supposed to be doing really. Maybe one just monitors the fire extinguisher button or something.

Actually, you do have 360° vision with it, by using the 3 cameras (there is a hud element in the cockpit, which allows you to select camera view, above silent running) and it's indeed 360° all combined.

Also, big monsters will show up as red or yellow dots on your sonar (right-hand side).

For the need for a base, I plaster "Scanner Bases" all over the place lol. I am going OCD on this bitch haha. 30+ hours in my current playthrough and I have only been to the 500m deep base yet. Currently placing bases and shit all over the place and maybe going to kill those damn leviathans.

PS: Scanner Base = 1-2 foundations, 1 multi-purpose room, 2 scanner rooms, 1 bioreactor, 3 solar panels, 1 indoor grow bed with melons.

The radar. When monster's blip is coming towards you fast, it's attacking. Turn on shield, wait for the blip to touch you, turn off shield. Rinse and repeat until you get away. You barely lose any power this way, since your shield is only active for a few seconds at a time. The only time this doesn't really work is the last zone, since the prominent monster has a ranged attack.

Sure, not in the sense needed to avoid all attacks. 360° (horizontal and vertical) at the same time I could see all attacks.

I didn't know the radar was this good Smile

But why 2 scanner rooms? Do you have 2 specific items in mind for all stations?

Not necessarily, but I like to have 1 scanner always scan for Titanium and the other for whatever else I need at the time. You can even have 10 scanner rooms for each base lol.
