I have a son, Barron, he's very good at the cyber - the best. Cyber, it's very complicated, I see in this video it says "Spetsnaz operative", but it could've been anyone, it could have been the Chinese or a 400-pound hacker could've gotten into the DNC and nobody is talking about that. The best - the very best people are telling me that it could have been violence in video games that causes these shootings and the news media, they are so dishonest, but, the fake news, they don't want to report on that. I have my top investigating team working on that and also in Hawaii, where they're on the brink of concluding the very good investigation into the Obama birth certificate. Obama, I mean, he's probably a Muslim, but lots of people are saying he also founded ISIS. Maybe the Second Amendment people could do something about that. ISIS, I mean, we're bombing the shit out of them and there's another war we're winning - I mean, you probably heard about it, the war on Christmas, well, folks, you can say Christmas again, everyone is going to get coal in their stockings for Christmas, big, beautiful, clean coal, you take coal and polish it - very beautiful, clean coal. No global warming, now they're calling it climate change, imagine that, this, folks, is a Chinese hoax. China, I mean, there's tariffs now, America first, did you know China borders Russia? Nobody knew geography could be so complicated. NO COLLUSION!

The image of house representatives randomly googling "gory videos of videogames" and quickly putting together a random unlisted video with no context at all and containing stolen contents is so sad it's hilarious. One would almost think it's something from The Onion, but every day there's a new brick to add to the pile of shame.

It's as if all the scientific research in the past decades, proving the absence of any correlation between video games and violence, suddenly loses all its validity and credibility just because the current moronic scoundrels in power need to preserve their dirty interests in the arms trade by shifting the blame on the easiest target out there. How ridiculous would that be Poker Face

He's changed a bit since Deus Ex it seems, happens I guess.

From that to Disney and I don't really know what he's doing currently since Disney is moving away form video games.

meanwhile at FOx News (the video in the link)
Quote:
MARTHA MACCALLUM (HOST): You know you watch some of these games, and Carolina researchers say that it does not lead to violent behavior, however we do know that many of these killers in the school shootings, and here as well, are people who have been under psychiatric treatment, they've been medicated for it and they spend 12, 15 hours a day like Nikolas Cruz was one of them, Adam Lanza and now this young man, gaming.

...

STEVE HILTON: The top neuroscientists now can actually show that extended exposure to these video games, all the overstimulation that comes with the games, the loud noises and the colors and the bangs and all that, it literally rewires your brain and it makes it harder for children who are doing this to control their emotions. That’s exactly what is a factor in these things because what it leads to is overresponding to a slight or to some kind of situation, if you didn’t have this stimulation you could let it go, if you overrespond it leads to conflict and violence in the real world.

I mean, look, when we think of other risks to children and their health, for example smoking, we actually take action and we ban those things for young people, and I think that there's a role for that now.

MACCALLUM: Great point.

HILTON: For things like overuse of smartphones and games, we can step in and say 'This is not supposed to be how kids should be raised,' and we can do something about it.

MACCALLUM: Yeah, I think you're so right. I think people used to smoke cigarettes at 13, 14 years old, now you’ve got people using this stuff all day long at those young ages and I think there’s going to come a time in our society when we look back and say, 'Can you believe we let kids play those games for hours and hours in their cars, in their bedrooms, in the basement?' Something we really need to wake up to.

Who the fuck keeps their kids in the basement?

And on the note of stimulation pretty sure a coca cola can do a lot worse than a video game far as that goes even without the little extra ingredient that might nor might not have existed at some point heh.

Course health wise sitting on your ass 8 - 10 hours in a row isn't good but I doubt you could link that to violent games or media having any major effects unless the person in question was pretty unstable or had mental health issues to begin with really.
But that doesn't stop people from trying, music, movies and now it's games getting their turn and society being a bit different overall these days.

EDIT: Well I guess the basement could make for a nice media room overall come to think of it although it sounded a bit funny in that statement.
