Man the support from M$ is terrible. I just swapped out my motherboard so now my paid version of GOW4 doesn't work. I went to the GOW4 forums and did everything I could there to get it to start. I called M$ and they said I had to reinstall it again??? 125GB BULLSHIT. I lost it and told him the game had been cracked anyway so take your M$ store crap and piss off. I said STEAM at least will let you "Verify" files and D/L what's needed that way you don't have to D/L them again....he said they don't do it that way??? FUCKTARDS!

keewee23....what video card driver are you using...most people on GOW4 forums are using 382.53 on NVidia cards...also make sure you have all the prerequisites installed. directx, Visual c++ ...etc I can't get into the GOW4 folders to see what is there as M$ store has them locked down and you are using the Windows 10 version 1607 or newer to play...hope this helps?

I have to say the D/L speeds are a lot better from the M$ store...I'm getting between 16-18MB speeds compared to 2.2MB torrents....My IP throttles my torrents

yep, dl speeds are top notch. not with my asshole 16k connection but it easily completely maxes out a 100k connection of a friend (and thats where i will go when i ever have to reinstall windows. redownloading forza 7 or even horizon 3 is a pain in the ass with my connection)

So of course I have finished D/L GOW4 from the M$ store and it fires right up!! Could have saved me 11 hours if they only "VERIFY FILES!!" DUMMIES

most likely simple licensing error due to the mainboard switch, but yes it could be easier
btw its still possible to download the eappx to store it somewhere and simply sideload it when you need it. needs some effort though, you need fiddler to sniff the store url (which you activate with start the download, pause it, sniff the url, abort the dl, put the url into any downloadmanager you like. link is valid for 20-24 hours, if you cant finish the dl by that time simply do that again and exchange the url in your dl manager. resumes just fine an works well UNLESS the package gets an update in the meantime. then you have to start from the scratch)

So, anyone played and can recommened it for singleplayer - besides that one fanboy here?
Watched some videos.
And besides a few rare occasions where you defend a base, it seems to be the same boring shit gameplay since GoW1.
Story is probably anal as ever too.

Well I would NOT recommend it for you "Bob" Everything you just said is right! hahaha
The only redeeming quality for me are the graphics and voice actors

The game still has a shaky cam when you run, yeah? Playing Gears 1 back then used to give a headache and cause motion sickness.

The legit version has been broken for many including myself for 5+ months now and does not get past the initial splash screen. There are a bunch of work arounds the Devs try to post but they do not seem to want to actually fix the problem on their end and instead want you to jump through a bunch of hoops to try and get the game to work so keep that in mind if you are thinking of buying it.
