Does anyone here have the AOC AG352UCG? 35" 4K, curved and Gsync for 800 euros new. Seems like a good price.

VA panel with just 2K contrast? What's even the point of going with VA then. Unless that's how it is for big VA monitors and they don't have as high contrast as the smaller ones? I never paid much attention to anything over 27.

Most VAs these days seem to be rated at around 3000:1, with real measured contrast ration often being at ~2500:1. It is still a very noticeable difference from IPS though.
With bigger screen size, perceived contrast ratio appears higher than on smaller ones, because the brights are "bigger". At a glance, my 46" HDTV, for example, with its measured ~2200:1 appears more impressive than the Eizo 24" with a ratio of 4500:1.
With a mostly black image, or if you focus on the blacks, you will see the difference of course. A higher CR is preferable if only to avoid the glow. 5000:1 ratios are pretty rare, unfortunately.
In regards to that specific monitor, there is a review by PC Monitors: https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-ag352ucg/
If I recall correctly, its main drawback is less then ideal responsiveness - some black smearing, which is present on most current VAs to varying extent.
That said, I don't think there are better options if you want VA and GSync at this time.

I eventually took the dive and bought a Benq GW2765HT - still adjusting to size - and I thought coming from 23" IPS to 27" wouldn't be a much difference ... yeah right xD

I am replacing aoc ag251fg because of backlight bleeding issues after all. Not too bad really but I feel I could gamble better.
Any ideas what gsync monitor to get? I could get another unit of this aoc and play blb game or try another model. Those are all very similar anyway. Those ips panels are 33% more expensive and have even more problems so I will probably not go for any of those... I am eyeing aoc ips 144hz but its quite expensive, 1440p is too demanding and blb game is there...
Gsync is sweet but there are not many monitors really.

If you like this monitor I would suggest trying a different unit of the same.

Like i have said many times, you cannot get good image quality out of high hz "gaming" monitors, there has to be some sort of compromises to be done on the panel when you are picking up the most overclockable ones at factory, and panel uniformity quality is not what they are looking for.
What goes for going IPS, you know that the grass is not greener on the other side either, IPS have even more problems on the uniformity department, dat glow for example (that is atlkeast for me absolutely the worst that i can see, it is so visible and destroys whole viewing experience). For movies and gaming i would go for good quality VA panel, samsung makes good ones, they have been generally good (especially ultrawides).

Am returning my AOC AGON AG322QCX (32", 144Hz, 1440p, VA Panel) as it showed on dark backgrounds a lot of pixel noise, even if no cable was attached. Small dots would appear and disappear randomly all over the screen. Everything else was working perfectly fine (3 always on subpixels in two different pixels apart), but also I wasn't 100% happy with the color reproduction. Greys always felt a little bit too warm but I guess if I had some sort of curve where I could fix the colors, it would've been perfectly fine in that regard. Contract was outstanding though and the shitty sound was mostly "fixed" by using the APO Equalizer.
So, I'm back in monitor search mode.
27"-32"
60-144Hz
IPS Panel (color reproduction is just too important for me and this VA did not impress me)
1440p
Price range: <500€

Pretty much every monitor requires calibration even tho they are "calibrated" out of the box. X-Rite Color Munki + DisplayCAL software does wonders, but one would expect from monitor that it does not need any additional calibration, so extra price for good colors might not be for all.

Hey SirPumpz, I've recently bought a Benq GW2765 and i love it - I use it for 90% photoshop work and the rest for gaming. It has color modes to suit everyone's needs ( Color reproduction is fantastic, but I still ordered a colorimeter to proper calibrate it - i really need perfect colors for my work ).
It's really a great monitor, good price too, the only downside from your list ( if I can call it like that ) is that's only 60hz and 27"

The Acer XF270HU is the most recommended cheap 144Hz IPS - it's below 450€. It has the same borderless panel as the XB271HU. But of course you won't get any G-sync at this price range.

Thx for the suggestions guys, the Acer actually seems to be a quite tempting choice, but I'm really struggling if I really need a 144Hz monitor anyway. For the forseeable future (fucking miners!) the GTX 970 will stay in my computer and in PUBG it sadly performs at an average of 90FPS ingame. Also the 144Hz of my VA didn't feel like 144Hz on a TN at all, even with overdrive enabled. But I'd never want the colors and viewing angles of TN ever again.
So I have two other monitors which seem quite promising:
ACER EB321HQUA & Viewsonic VX3211-2K-mhd
Both IPS, 1440p, 60Hz, <5ms, both seem to feature excellent colors.
The viewsonic apparently was on easter sale for just 229€, which is the only reason why I'm not buying it right now for the cheap 279 they are asking for

Here is review for the ViewSonic
https://3dnews.ru/966520/page-2.html
Well it's not bad especially for that price. Only annoying thing is that these 31.5'' 1440p IPS panels have a rather grainy matte coating.

Ordered the ViewSonic for 279€. I'll report back regarding the quality and if it is better than the 520€ AOC.

You go into panel lottery, you either win or lose, same goes for every other maker model / panel.

Well VA monitors can have blb aswell, also black/grey uniformity can be very bad, so basically every same shit what every other LCD can have, its all about luck, since these days quality control is horrible even on the most expensive monitors (especially on those gaming monitors, its pretty incredible how bad panels they sell for the price).

most people who buy curved , regret it later, its unnatural to the eye and messed with ur brain
also all this sync shit branding costs u 50-100 usd extra just for some shitty license that actually does nothing for the consumer

It seems like cool immersive thing but in reality everything is skewed and curving the monitor is a tough manufacturing process. They often have worse dead pixels rate, worse uniformity and sometimes worse font rendering like samsung fg and chg screens

OK, received the viewsonic and no matter how nice the contrast on VA is, the colors and their stability on IPS are just awesome.
