Awesome, thanks for the info. By the way, how much is the monthly cost in the US for Xbox Game Pass? I'm guessing much cheaper than $2?
Also, can you use the 14-day trial on top of the two Xbox Game Pass' months? I mean, getting the trial and then claiming the code, or just claim the code after the trial runs out. That way you could get 2 and 1/2 months with any new account (but using you main account to play a game), right?
You can continue playing with your account? Well, in that case, great deal
You can. That's how my friend and I do with MS titles.
You can also play online together with a single account. Just need to generate license and good to go.

I'm not 100% sure about 14-day trial + this on the top. This works with new accounts/accounts that have not used Xbox pass previously.
I need to start recording some of the shenanigans I've been able to pull off against other people.
Was turning my quest in at a port, some folks on a galleon showed up and shot at my ship. Put some damage, but not enough to sink. They sailed away figuring I already turned in all my loot (which I have), but they sailed into the storm. So naturally, since I had nothing to lose I followed them in my sloop. They parked at some island during the storm and fuckers all left the ship. I sailed close, had two explosive barrels that I collected from previous voyage, set the charges up and sinking their shit. They had roughly 7 or 8 chests that sunk to the sea. Managed to get away
As tired as this argument sounds, the difference in lighting doesn't seem to be the result of an actual downgrade. Other stuff was downgraded, but the lighting quality seems to be the same.
I think that the two best looking aspects of the game are 1) the water 2) the lighting. It's a bit disappointing how so many games still take big shortcuts when it comes to lighting, but in Sea, they didn't half-bake it. You can see how the entire scene changes based on the weather, or when things get "spooky" and green. It actually feels like the type of lighting I expected we'd see every game use this generation, where you can bathe the environment in it. Looking at the video, the difference doesn't seem to be in quality, but in how their original vision had much harsher light (possibly in an attempt to make people feel like they're in the Caribbean) while they went for a milder look in the final game. The weather does change in-game so it's not always gonna look like this, but I don't think it ever goes as harsh as that original vision.
Where I personally see the most obvious downgrade is with the ambient occlusion. The original video clearly uses a form of it, but that's absent in the final game. Looking at the grass in the original video, we can see that 1) there's more grass density 2) they used ambient occlusion on it. Final game doesn't have that and the grass is more sparse. This has a pretty big impact on the quality of the vegetation, which is EVERYWHERE in the game. There are other small changes (like the skeleton model), but the one change which truly downgrades the visuals is definitely how they treated vegetation. It's like they cut it in half and removed the shadows.
tried a while on friends xbone ... its sooo empty
its basically just techdemo /framework with small little things and cool visuals
but pretty much nothing is there
just ship battles and fetchquests
its like sandbox without any tools to play with
and even as MP ... you rarely find anyone to fight against , there are not even NPC ships to fight against outside of quests
surprised its not getting same shitfire NMS got , but i guess noone cares about xbox
Same shit as NMS indeed, but I guess people are giving Rare a pass or just didn't care much to begin with.
This.
And on euroderper it's beyond embarassing with pretty much one article per day about this game, two or three previews and a recommended review
I mean, it's par the course for that site to go over the moon and be extremely forgiving on UK devs but with this game it's just ridiculous, even if it indeed is one of microsoft's few exclusives.
