Ansel is fixed in the new update, not sure how much of it is part of the earlier leaked version used for a DRM free alternative but the full patch does have a number of additional files and the build number is a bit higher so chances are the Ansel fixes were added later closer to the patch being finalized.

They're working on another one too so it'll be interesting to see what that one fixes.

Well, now my whole PC crashed while running around in the wild.
There are no temperature problems that i can see, and also no memory leaks in any kind going on.

I'm starting to think this game doesn't react well to my GPU / CPU overclocks. Embarassed

I had to set my GPU and CPU to default otherwise it would crash.

(i googled it and more had the same issue)

Had yet another PC crash, for fucks sake.
Removed all GPU overclocks for now. Let's see how it runs.

Fuck this retarded game. Another crash to desktop now.
Not gonna downclock my CPU too for this game.

Will try to Google some solution.

If not, well uninstall it is then.
Can't be bothered saving every few minutes in case a crash might happen.

Texture streaming set too high? Maxing it out has given some people problems before.
I haven't had it crash in the 60+ hours in the legit game now and I do overclock so something is seriously off with the game on your system.

There is a resource leak on some systems so that's something to check too, windowed or borderless mode and then via the task manager you can see how much RAM the game is currently using and also how much it's committing and reserving.

For my own system it tends to climb up to around 13 - 14 GB before it crashes although that's just the game shutting down and not the entire system.
(Committed memory will usually always be higher so upwards of 20 GB or so, some games reserve and commit huge amounts of memory and then DirectX ensures it's kept within what the system has available for both RAM and VRAM.)

CPU voltage perhaps and the game just being one of those few that are just incredibly sensitive so while almost everything else is completely stable this game won't like higher speeds but yeah re-adjusting just for a single game isn't the most fun though if you do get it stable you can be certain the clock speeds should be serviceable for just about anything then but it takes a bit of fiddling with how sensitive these games are. Nah that would never crash his whole pc lol just the game, sounds more like his oc isn't exactly 100% stable the game maxes the cpu+gpu out pretty well more then anything i've seen lately could also be the power supply because of that dunno but it's definitely not just the game, software can't crash hardware if everything is in order with it.

I'm getting crashes to desktop and sometimes even the whole PC crashes with this game.

I completely uninstalled and re-install the GPU driveres, the ASUS AURA tool and CPU chipset drivers.

If it still keeps crashing now, i don't know what do.

Will also let Memtest running over night. Maybe something is fucked with the RAM.

I had some odd crashes but fixed it by reapplying sams crack. Might have been something on my end (I upgraded frankenstein build with steamrip hashcheck+update) but worth a shot.

Never had a bluescreen or hard crash tho.

I thought my graphics card was borked, the amount of crashes I was getting. I found that I had to remove the overclock on the GPU and that sorted it. Luckily, it doesn't mind the CPU OC.

I've noticed a couple of games recently that won't stand for a GPU OC (on my system anyway)...Gravel springs to mind.

If they crash with an overclock, it's not a stable overclock. Different engines can cause more stress, you need an overclock that is stable across the board. Insufficient Power (maybe because of a failing power supply) and heat can also cause crashes so look into that as well.

Not sure if its a coincidence or my previous steps helped. But i was able to play for about 4-5h without any crash this time.

Though after that the errors popped up again. Even got a new one Laughing

Luckily this time i could just press ignore at the above error.
And the other chinese error message i got previously, i could just move the error window to the site and continue playing. Wasn't able to do that back then.

But then at the quest Engaging the Empire it bugged out, when i destroyed the Magitek Generator. Couldn't summon Ramuh and couldn't enter the Regalia either, as it still said i had to destroy the generator.

Damn you squeenix! Very Happy

One of the beach boys sometimes pull me back before a fight to have a strategy meeting, which i then ignore. Just now this happened for monsters 28 levels below me. It stopped me to tell me this special idea for trash mobs that died within 2 secs Laughing

I do like that there are stronger enemies scattered about. I just blinked into some new type of enemy, because I obviously dont check what I run into and it just put me down. Still won the fight in the end though, because they were too passive Razz

Finished it over a week ago and am now starting to miss it

even though the story was thin at times (I mean honestly, most of the game is filler) the characters and the world do stick with you, great concept.

I figured I would hate the combat given that final fantasy was defined by the round based combat for a long time, but it's a nice change of pace

can't wait for the FFVII remake

Just the story or? I'm asking since I still have a ton to do after 80 hours and now even more so when I started the MP DLC :/ Razz

One thing I like about the DLC: Can do everything with A.I.
The cons: very very repetitive grind and when you do want to play with people 90% of the time no one is around because you can only join particular quests at a time (thins out the little population there is).

@BoB
I hate that bastardized cover. Wailing piece of crap.

Anywho...
I finally finished all the DLC content yesterday and fuck me... I really have a love/hate relationship with this game.

If it weren't so fragmented by the DLC it could have been a great game.
The story is actually one of the better ones but to fully experience it you need to get off your arse and dedicate quite some time to get all the niggly bits that make it better.

I like that the MP crap was doable in SP mode (except for a mission here or there) and how I wished they just fleshed that content out and put it in as the second part of the game instead of that on rails bit that overstayed its welcome.
I do advocate using CheatEngine for the MP so you can skip having to grind the same missions repeatedly. It cut my time in half if not more.
Their infrastructure is a joke, if you internet drops out for a moment it will stay offline unless you reboot the game completely.

Some other cons for me were:
- Not being able to change your party, I get why and it worked but still I really miss creating my own party in the end.
- Shitty magic system, the system was too simplistic and just not fun.
- Summons. Again it makes sense in the story but they take a fun part away plus getting them was a rather lacklustre event. I saw my very first random one 60 hours into the game when I already finished the game. So great waste of creating such shiny events.
- A bit too much copy paste content that didn't really matter, those dungeons after you complete the game... dreadful caves that just take a bit too long to get to the boss.
- Some of the boss fights being too long... I've done full blown raids in MMO's that take less time
-Combat while it is one of the better live action ones in FF, it gets boring rather fast. I will always be in favour for TB system.

It's a flawed game that I had quite a bit of fun with and for how incredibly unlikeable these characters were for me they pulled it off in the end. You feel like a bunch of friends going on an adventure and in the end you care for every one of them.

Let's hope the next project isn't a clusterfuck in management and the story isn't as fragmented.

But... I'm bored already with it, and I've only got a little past the first summoning battle. It's just...losing my attention, and I can't exactly put my finger on why. The driving just seems pointless to me, unnecessary filler. The combat is just chaotic and I don't see much in the way of skill there. But it's the story that's just causing my brain to shut down.

Other games, like Berseria or FFX.. or even Nier, they kept me wanting to see what's coming next, even if there might be a slightly dull area with backtracking, or just a bit of a grind to get to the next bit, I still wanted to. FFXV... not so much. I am somewhat meh towards the fate of the emo-king, and I think that therein lays the problem. Other games, I'm genuinely intersted in knowing what happens to the protagonist - even poor Tidus... but here... right now, without using Google, I cannot remember the kid's name even.

I ALSO absolutely HATE the setting. Final Fantasy has never been about modern day crap. It's always blended futuristic styles with fantasy. You'd never see Lightning stop to read a text message, or Auron put his jug down to answer a call. It just doesn;'t fit, and in my not particularly humble opinion, ruins the game.

Ah yes, I also wish it was more fantasy than what we got. I did get used to it after the first hours of bitching on it.

I don't blame you for losing your attention, they made it a rather frustrating way to experience the whole story. And I find they went a bit over the top with Noctis his whole 'je m'en fous' mentality. Took me a while to get over that.
