Actually, what sucks really bad in this game is that doing enough sidequests forces you to "liberate" an area without actually liberating outposts etc. This game is just very unbalanced in terms of progress since it forces the bossfights on you.

Well tested it a bit, game looks and runs fantastic, gameplay also seems to be pretty fun but wtf is up with AI in this game i don't remember the Far Cry 3 AI (last one i played) being this retarded, it's downright insulting.

Meh, that's what this is.

"Yet another Far Cry". Same clunky controls and "even tho it's at constant 90+ fps it feels like it runs at 20" sluggishness.

I don't get it, Wildlands runs a lot smoother than this, no sluggishness at all.

Different engines?

I thought wildlands was clunky and sluggish as hell. FC5 seems so far to be a smoother experience for me. Performance wise better as well, even though there's the occasional dip below 60 FPS. Running it on a 1080GTX.

Game runs very smooth for me, highest settings except for Terrain on "Normal" and such (which are barely noticable.

Ah well..the AI ruins this one for me though.

I got an assault rifle + scope + silencer. Plus a sniper with the same loadout.

Pewpew dead.

Only time I died was to a horde of wild boars so far...should have chosen 'hard' instead of 'normal'...meh. :/

Other than that, I am just running around doing stuff...first area is almost done, hope this gets better along the way.

The AI in basically every Ubi game is pure shit.
Especially in their open world games it's so easy to exploit them.

You can change the difficulty in the menu. The AI is very, very dumb. I recommend disabling the interface helpers since they make the game way too easy too. It won't make the AI better, but at least it stops you from having magical powers.

You don't get more skilled in games with age, if that is what you wanted to say.

Depends entirely on the genre, having quick reflexes will only help you in some games; in others they're completely irrelevant and experience from having played similar games before is much more useful.

One key factor where older players tend to lose out is the time available they have to commit to games, though. Very Happy

Well I am an elementary school teacher. I am home at 2pm every day, no kids and my gf is gaming herself. If she is not binge-watching netflix or we'Re going out or doing smth else. Wink

I'd say I have more time for games than in my university days...especially during holidays... Very Happy

SavePath=%DEFAULT_CPY_DIR%

but dunno where it is, somewhere on c: in a restricted folder. cause unless you start it as admin it should either crash at creating profile after the intros or isnt able to save like in your case

Win7 at least is over at C:\Users\NAME\Documents\CPY_SAVES\NAME\UPLAY\1803, and it's saving fine.

It seems to automatically save whenever you do something of importance (like blowing up a silo, not sure about mere looting or hunting etc.).

Automatic (checkpoint) saves during missions. Automatic + manual save outside of missions (save option appears in the menu).

the usual with Far Cry games , you need to get to the certain point of the game for it to actually start saving aka beat the prologue (iirc its liberating first outpost)

what prudislav says, just checked it

buuuuut still it will crash for me if i dont launch it with admin rights, but my documents folder isnt on c at all. and even if it would: no reason for a program to need elevated rights to write into it (would be the case if it stores data in in c:\programdata or something similar)

Anyone having problem with "granite" error - saving not working, just change the saves location directory in cpy ini to any other folder. Wish I knew this before doing the unskippable prologue over and over again becuase of some game breaking bug when saving the first hostage he didn't spawn
Apparently this saving error was also experienced by some legit users due to cloud saving bug losing hours of progress, good job ubi Mind Is Full Of Fuck

Apart from that the game is optimized very well and runs great at least in the beginning area, hopefully it will stay that way later while unleashing some serious havoc.

You need to enable 'indexing' for the save to work properly, same with WatchShit2.

So, create a folder for saves, linked in CPY .ini, set indexing, works fine Wink
