I've been reading some first impressions from users on other forums, dodging spoilers like a master, and the raving reviews seem to be correct. My hype boner is huge. This is the first time I ever bought a game at full price for a modern console
Trying both mode back and forth make me realise I’m glad there is a performance mode, I couldn’t care less if people say the frame rate is alll over the place, at least it plays so smoothly now.

No input lag at all, feels so good !
I think the game stays at around 40-45. That's more than enough for me at least.
I am due a new mobile upgrade next month and I can pick up a PS4 Pro FIFA 18 bundle and Galaxy S8 for £50 a month on a 24 month contract. I was going to go for an S9 but I am having second thoughts now as it's very tempting to have two Pro consoles. The thought of missing out on God of War, Detroit and Red Dead Redemption 2 is a killer.

I'd get a 2nd Pro. That's also why I think Sony doesn't care much about piracy, even IF 5.50 was hacked in 2 months, they wouldn't care : for sure most of their sales, at least for GoW, are day 1...
I know I wouldn't miss it, nor would I miss Detroit or RDR2.
It's decent but doesn't blow my mind. I had way more fun with AssCreed Origins. The areas are extremely constrained (more than i thought) and the game world feels totally dead (this can be good - like in Dark Souls, but here it's not dead in an especially good sense). I guess i'm 3.5h in so i might still change my mind. It's way too movie/linear-like which i despise in games, there are very few that can pull this off and keep my interest (Last of Us was great).
I bought GoW3 remaster for the PS4, it wasnt my type of game at all. But i did like the setting and overall atmosphere of it. I much prefer this when it comes to control/camera..
I'll keep playing this one though, not expecting too much to be honest since i should have gotten a decent idea by now. Glad i bought a physical copy, they often catch a good price on Tradera if you aren't too slow with selling it.
Anyone know how to backtrack in the temple of alfheim? I'm only getting to that pillar of light, but i can't find my way back to the start of the temple
I find this game better than the previous ones, it's much more mature and I like the combat system more. I had a lot of fun with the older games, but this game is more in most ways. Maybe the older games didn't have a big impact on me because I played them much much later than the original release dates. I for one like the new Kratos better than the perpetually angry and shouty Kratos of old.
I'm having a hard time at the second difficulty level, I hope it'll be better when I get some better upgrades and such.

Too bad they dropped tge ball on exploration. Its russian roulette when you see two paths, cause if you pick the right one theyll close the fucking door behibd you. Why do they place so much crap on the map for ypu, only to restrict you like this?

That’s what I’m doing, deliberately avoiding the main story line, focussing on exploration and hopefully working towards as many side quests and activities as possible, complete with the understanding that Metroidvania will on occasion prevent my progress and I’ll have to return with a specific tool or item.

In one place i mistakenly jumped up a ledge and was regretting it the moment i pressed the button. This lead to a cutscene and being cut of from the previous location. I still can't find my way back into the temple in alfheim :S
