It's wishful thinking of the director who make such pompous plans like Pacific Rim universe with spin-offs, prequels and crossovers with Godzilla and King Kong Smile

The first one flopped but was barely saved by China. This one did even worse. Estimates put the break even point at $350M BO after an additional.. 2 years of sales on home video etc. And it only managed to do $288M. So another one isn't happening.

http://deadline.com/2018/03/pacific-rim-uprising-black-panther-weekend-box-office-1202352184/

Quote:
So at an estimated $155M production cost before P&A, and a $28M domestic opening, and a $150.5M global start, at what point does Pacific Rim: Uprising reach break even?

We had our film finance sources who assisted with our blockbuster tournament weigh-in, and they figure that at around a $350M global B.O.,
with China only delivering 43% of that number, that’s about when Pacific Rim: Uprising will trigger downstream ancillaries that will churn a break-even in under two years of about $10.7M.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay - 8/10

Very good. Best Suicide Squad film so far. Also watch out for some surprising tie in to a past DC animated film!

That nod was pretty cool.

Just watch this film blind if you are a horror fan. This isn't in your face/jumpscare horror but the sense of dread permeates the film throughout making you feel huge relief after it's ended.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Black Panther 5/10

Turned it off just over half way, when another trial-by-combat sequence was going to begin at those CGI waterfalls. Maybe I'm also a closet racist, but I just couldn't give a shit at all about this. Maybe it's just super-hero fatigue.
And yeah, I agree with all the African clichés that are borderline racist/parody (technologically super-advanced civilization still talking/thinking in terms of tribes just made me laugh). And that the best character was the white guy Laughing

Turbo Kid - 3/10. I was expecting 80s nostalgia but they punch it into You in this cheap movie without anything interesting

Serenity - 8/10. I've only seen tv show Firefly few months ago and loved it so there is no surprise I also liked the movie. It's a good closure for the show

Black Panther: 4/10 Huge disappointment! I now realize all the hype was based on the BLM movement or some other politcal agenda. Skip this one. Suprised Stan even showed his face at the craps table.. 2 hours and 15 min is way too long for any movie. Took me two years to finish it

It was enjoyable enough. Do not expect Scarface-style gangster drama though.

It just seems like a movie marvel wanted to make because of some politics or sjw crap. Black people matter, cgi does not Laughing

You're not alone, I usually watch movies till the end (even the abysmal ones can partially redeem themselves with their 'so bad it's good' traits or unwanted awkward humour Razz) but with the Wakapanther I had to give up after 30 minutes or so. It just felt so utterly uninteresting, tripe-y (more than the usual, not easy to achieve) and heavily stereotyped/plain simplistic on top of that.
The last time that I went through something similar was last year with the second Avengers movie, where the sensation of dying inside was too much to handle even for a disinterested viewing Laughing

Guess I wasn't the only one that stopped watching halfway then. There was just so much nonsense in the movie like really? The only good thing in this movie is perhaps Andy Serkis lol. This is actually the worst marvel film to date imo.

I can't even grasp the praise Serkis is getting in this. I thought he wasn't anything special. Maybe compared with the garbage he was surrounded with but on his own he wasn't much either.

Should have just used the one from Die Antwoord for that role since I think Serkis was wasted on it. Razz

Black panther : 6.5/10
By far the cheapest looking marvel movie.
A lot of exposition which is a plus.
Action sequences are lacklustre.
A lot of green screen, vfx were some of the worst.
They changed a buncha things from the comics and kept only some.
A lot of blacksplotation in it though. Needless even.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Not even then, he was shit in this... like he had no direction other than act like a loud, wacky mofo all the time.

Although to be honest I can't remember if he was acting the same back in age of ultron or not...

Black Panther: 6.5/10

Nothing great here, really. It's decent at best. Some of the action and CGI was really shoddy and the whole plot was just kinda... stupid. Oh that very important person fell down a cliff into water? Oh well I guess he's dead....moving on! No reason to make sure...lmao

Seems like it should have lots of potential but it was wasted here.

Logan 9/10

Still one of the best comic book movies made.

Game Night 6/10

Okayish comedy.

Black Panther 5/10

Half decent villain couldn't save the poor accents and terrible CGI.

So am I.

The opening scene in the first Super Troopers is simply legendary. I liked their Beer Fest too (whatever happened to the sequel Bong Fest?? Wink ).

Coco 9/10

That was so freaking charming.

And loved how it didn't shy away from the subject of murder, it's a movie about death after all. The family's melophobia (oh yeah, I looked it up Razz ) is over the top, but I've seen worse excuses to have a story. Smile
