Oh boy,
Forced myself to play this - just to kill those annoying Seeds (that ending Laughing Crying or Very sad )
I think ubi forgot that main story missions should be better than side activities - even that fishing was far more interesting.
3/10 - even worse than FC4.

Oh god,please make this happen. White Gold wasn´t exactly an improvement,even though it took em years to make it iirc but a "modern" Boiling Point with not as easily exploitable faction system and i wouldn´t leave my pc for weeks. Damn,i still remember working hard in BP for a Trabi-wannabe car, shit was expensive and you always need a extra wheel but it was glorious.

In FC5 you find the first Car/Boat/Heli station and can already pick stuff without buying anything,thats just shit. Not that it would be great fun to unlock in that setting,getting other weapons (which are mostly just variants and not really that different from the starting gun) is already a chore

The problem (not an uncommon one sadly) is that it's nearly impossible to find some entity in the current gaming industry that has the budget and actual willpower to make something akin to a polished Boiling Point without resorting on a huge lick of streamlinization, which would end up bastardizing the formula.

With PC exclusives that are unfortunately like dinosaurs in a museum and with our typical compAAAny targeting the (safe) lowest common denominator for such demanding projects, at best we can have something that captures the essence of the original idea but only if many compromises are accepted by the player. The indie world and kickstarter/fig are always an option, though we'd still come full circle when it comes to the potential amount of polish-level of ambitiousness ratio. Razz

Far Cry 5 belongs to another species entirely, it's both a safe derivative beast and uber-accessible which makes it rather forgettable and unremarkable in almost every possible way. After finishing it as well, I can say that there are moments of actual fun in it and the combo between Ramboing and Panthering around can still lead to beautiful chaos, but...at the end of the day the sense of accomplishment is extremely little no matter the difficulty setting chosen.

The exploration is never really rewarding because of the grind-focused Ubistructure (no matter the HUD elements that one turns off) and the tonal mess that fuels the forced "story" and characters in this specific case makes things even worse than the usual in my opinion - alongside the fact that the relentless spawning system here is simply Y U No???? Laughing
It's like the junk food of the gaming world, enjoyable in small chunks but once you slightly up the dosage you immediately start feeling a sense of discomfort that only a bathroom nearby can quench.

Fixed an issue where the shovel would become un-usable when bringing up Photo Mode as the weapon breaks
Fixed an issue where photo mode was unavailable for the DLCs before completing the intro mission of the main game
Fixed issues with melee weapons

Fixed the Sky Occlusion Setting that did not properly interact with the light level of the map
Removed some folders that were doubled in Lights And Effects
Bug fix for texture issues on destructible generic shapes
Bug fix for Triggers and Actions for Scripting Tool
Bug fix for map budgets carrying over to new created maps
Bug fix for assets changing upon loading the map
Added IGE Lost on Mars DLC assets
Added IGE Dead Living Zombies DLC assets
Minor bug fix on some Hours of Darkness DLC assets
Minor bug fix on decals



9. Far Cry® 5 Dead Living Zombies DLC

General bug fix for release




EDIT: And I see the list of known issues now has some entries marked as will not fix so that might be it unless something critical comes up requiring patching.
