Other than man utd, dont see him anywhere else where he could go..maybe MLS but not now
He did some research in april with a bunch of doctors and the results showed his "biological" age is 23 yo so he can definitely play more at this level (he also said he wants to play til 41 yo), plus Zidane made him understand to sit on the bench with small teams and shine in big matches, just like he did in the previous 2 seasons.

Cristiana can join our 5-a-side team anytime, as long as he doesn't pull off his shirt and doesn't scream siiiiiii after scoring we guarantee him one free dinner per month (hamburger + chips + discount beer, ~€10 after taxes). Plus, as a fellow 1985men he'll be allowed lo laugh at my wrecked back and reduced stamina of a panda whenever he will like. The girlfriend will be part of the deal too of course, but that won't be an issue since it's all a cover-up anyway

It was a surprising move but it makes sense, leaving as a winner is more difficult but satisfying  (instead of facing the inevitable future sacking by Florentino, a trademark ). He's probably realized that the core of the team which he's very fond of has already reached its peak and saying farewell now is better than when one has to deal with players/friends declining, creating dramas and things getting trickier in general.
