The main thing? They're owned by Tencent (aka China). Aside from that, it's a wannabe startup store that's just giving devs a bigger % cut to entice them - they haven't proven themselves to the user-base in terms of trustworthiness and longevity (and probably never will due to point 1).

Is the Epic Games Store DRM-Free?
There is no DRM on the Epic Games Store and it's up to the developer to provide it if they want it. CSS has no plans to do it with Satisfactory.

I don't see a problem with it either so far their launcher and store is unintrusive and works fine especially compared to Ubi,MS and EAs crap store launchers, they don't force shitty DRM and regularly give out free shit i just got Subnautica for free couldn't be happier tbh.
