Everything sounds right and not overblown
Cable management is better
audio separation is better

How can someone this fucking stupid remember to breath at regular intervals lol.
Subs can make any sound system better. Problem you're having is you've never had a good subwoofer, and I'm not talking about some shitty Logitech, corsair or whatever your third world website sells that you guys run under your desk so it blocks the sound. I'm talking Klipsch, SVS, Polk, Emotiva, Dayton, BIC that even a 100 dollar sub sound good enough.
Overblown? It's called setting the crossovers and volume at the right spot so it blends in. Even if they're omnidirectional woofers, proper placement is still key so again, it blends in instead of sounding like a separate tool. You'd know this if you actually had experience in it and had advice to give, but you clearly don't, and running them under the desk like most people do is exactly as stupid as it sounds.
Cable management is better? What in the fuck? It's literally one cable unless you're running it passively, which almost no one does.
Better audio separation? I don't even know how the fuck to respond to this. A subwoofer literally is just there to fill in the lower Hz that your bookshelf speakers aren't capable of reproducing. What about that made you think it's tampering with your audio separation? Do you tell people fries taste better without using potatoes because you don't like the taste of potato? Because that batshit retarded comment has about the same level of logic.

I will shortly move to a new apartment (away from Hotel Mama ). So i will never be able to up the boss as high as i want.
So i might as well get rid of my 5.1 system and buy a nice 2.0 setup.
For hardcore sessions i still have headphones. |
You can still run a subwoofer in an apartment, it's just a matter of matching the size of your room that the speakers are into to a subwoofer that can handle it. If you're in a small office, you don't need a huge 12" woofer, an 8" will be more than enough and can turn of the volume without rattling the entire apartment.

We had a nice conversation and You came to educate...
You were always telling us that good 2.0 full range bookshelves are better than 2.1 or 5.1 setups.
We all got it and now You say otherwise?
You always thought of Yourself as one and only opinion elitist. I get it ok. You are a god of audio, graphics, monitors everything. Just let us be wtf. Believe it or not but it't nothing complicated or even hard to understand. It's just audio and it;s all very simple and most of the time overpriced.
Ofc I know a good sub is a good sub what are You even trying to say. How can any of this be most idiotic thing You've ever heard? Stop overreacting. There is a better way to share Your opinion than to burst in and tell people they are idiots.
Both eidifier or mackie is a simple ok. I know there is better or fuckloads better audio there. Ofc there is. THERE ALWAYS IS BETTER.
But I do not care. I know this and I do not want to hear any of it each time. Let me fucking go there myself unless I ask for help. I am super happy with what I have and it sounds much better than any speakers I had before and that's enough for now. If I will feel it's bad, then I can spend 40k$ for audio or just add sub to cr3 setup. It fills my apartment very well and nothing is lacking. Even explosions or movies sound good. I do not do any critical listening. It's just entertainment at low volume levels. Headphones do the rest.
And cable management being better is a FACT. You need a place for sub, You need to connect it to power and to active speaker. Sure it's not much but it's more and it was always a hassle for me and I feel my setup is much cleaner with 2.0 which also sounds awesome

If you paid attention to Spykez you'd realize he recommends a good real 2.0 setup over Logitech, Corsair, generic computer gaming setups that come in the range of 2.1 and 5.1. Swan is literally the only company to make good sounding mini satellite 2.1 and 5.1 systems I know of.
For example he'd recommend a sub for the Audio Engine A5 like the matching S8. Both QUALITY. Non of this 2.1 stuff like Z313, Z625, SP2500, etc etc.
Just don't blanket coat that subs have any effect on "audio separation" and that they'd sound overblown.
Cable management wise you got 3 options:
1. Passive (Probably 0.5% of people do this) 3 cords
2. Active - 2 cords
3. Wireless - 1 cord.
If one small run cord from the wall to your sub is gonna ruin your feng shui then we got other problems to address.

Jesus Christ, you're doing your typical KC back peddling.
Every time I have to correct you when you spew bullshit, you go on this it's just audio it's not complicated rant. If you actually believed that you wouldn't say stupid shit like "audio separation is better without a sub". I've lost count how many times it's happened lol.
There's people here wanting to break into audio and listening to you is only going to give them an aneurysm.

Do it. Audioengine's speakers are stupid awesome for what you pay. Had Chiv get a pair of AE but a different model. Even their tiny ass speakers produce a loud stage that doesn't make sense.
They're almost magical what they're able to do.
As for the A5, I ran the P4 as well as Besthijacker. Passive versions of them. They can get really loud without ever breaking up, produce really impressive bottom end for being bookshelf and the clarity on the high end without ever hurting your ears was welcome. Isn't much that I played that didn't sound great on them.
Just keep in mind these are tuned with a rather flat EQ so what's mixed is what you hear. So if you like a certain sound, you'll have to software EQ them more to your liking.
The only other ones that I'd recommend at that price point or comparatively are the Edifier powered speakers.
Klipsch R-14PM have a built in DAC if you can find them in your area which I suspect might be harder.
Plenty of Yammy powered monitors are awesome but those inputs are usually "balanced" so you'd need a balanced output to run them.
Fluance started making a pair, they look nice but I dont know much about them, but it being Fluance they're probably well made and sound good.
But those are just in the price point of your AE5+ that you're getting a good deal on. Those aren't cheap so nothing really is going to compare unless you spend a shit ton more.
ALSO, those Audioengines run a pre-out as well so you can hook up a nice little subwoofer along with them to cover the bottom end they don't produce, just set your crossover on them to around 90hz
Buy them.

Thx SpykeZ for your response, alot has happen though. Did not buy the audioengine 5+ and began looking at more sets.
audioengine a5+
Did not buy but still interested.
Klipsch R-15PM
Heard good things here
Q Acoustics 3020
Heard good things here
Mission LX-2
Heard good things here
S880db
Might be able to get thees for 180$
Vanatoo Transparent Zero
Seems to be the best thing since sliced bread, can't find them in the EU though.
Edifier S350db 2.1
One of the few (only) system here that has a sub and good price.
MicroLab SOLO6C
Good price
mr624 mackie
Heard good things and bad (heat)
Jbl lsr305 mk2
Here thees seems to be the once to get. Only beaten by the vanatoo on this list.
My apartment is small though. It's just one room 3x3 meters. Kitchen is a kitchenette behind doors.
Will the small room ruin the sound or are all the above suggestions overkill?
Today in using the creative T30, should I just stay with thees or get somthing from my list.
I play mainly retro console games nes->psx with retroarch. But also pc indi games like hollow knight, spelunky and soon shakedown Hawaii. Movies and some TV shows will also be watched.

I have the Klipsch R-15PM on my TV along with klipsch R-112SW subwoofer, looks amazing and sounds very good, they pack punch without subwoofer aswell (sound quality in general is top notch), highly recommended.
Small room wont ruin your sound (as long room has proper acoustics), you need proper sized speakers for the room size, in this case for example big subwoofer will be overkill.
