Tried this out.

-The combat is slow and clunky. "Tactical" my ass.
-The cover system is nonsensical, often putting you on the WRONG side of cover (with your back exposed to the enemy) even if you clicked on the correct side of it.
-All the mobs feel like the same, and bosses are just boring bullet-sponges.
-Barebone item variety.
-LAUGHABLE active skill system. No variety whatsoever as it's tied to your weapons.
-Generic passive skill trees that consist of +1% bonuses etc.

Put an hour and thirty minutes into this. Never been so thankful for Steam's refund system as I was just now.

This is a $20 game, made by a C grade developer that set its price-point at $50 merely so it could recoup the cost of utilizing the license.

BLEH. Mad

not at this price id agree, i watched a guy do a 24 hour stream , he was pushing the exact same skill buttons and had similar gear after i woke up when he went from lvl 8 to lvl 25 ... almost no good gear drops and zero gameplay variation.

cover system is completely bogus, shame, they had plenty of time and experience from hellsing, they just fucked it up not taking any risks cause of this meh license

also the socalled big end of campaign boss was a rip off of butcher in d3 only this butcher had 2 sounds 2 animations and couldnt even move ... it was pathetic

also the game had maybe 600-800 vieuwers on launch, pispoor marketing, they shot themselves in the foot not hiring a big name streamer like kriparian o(who had play hellsing in hardcore) for launchday . The game is now pretty much dead on arrival with e3 news floating everywhere. The game will never reach a higher player count then on release week and will fall of real fast due to its monotome nature.

15 usd at most, and it will need a TON of dlc and patches to make it any kind of fun for a longer duration .

This update brought a better event, removed the annoying gore on death, added unique skins for all relic items, populated the larger maps, etc.
Make no mistake, this is still an unfinished game, but it will get there in a few months. Mr. Green

Jesus christ... this game is complete garbage... you can also tell that it's "still" unfinished as fuck... no wonder they are quiet about the console version... the PC version isn't even ready.

(If anyone takes issue with me saying that, I can elaborate on why I think so if the need arises. I got a multitude of reasons as to why but can't be arsed to write an whole essay for no reason.)

For a 40k enthusiast like myself, it's pretty cool what Neocore are trying to do with Martyr. However, the current state of the game doesn't justify its price or the "released" tag.

LOL, this has to be the most dumbest shit ever i have heard from devs for not releasing a content patch... Someone asked "is the warzone coming today", since they promised it early this week, tho they said nothing about this day, but still hear this response out... Laughing

Quote:
Nope, we also have to take Independence Day in USA into consideration - it will come this week though.

The warzone is a total letdown so. The end game (so far) is composed of a bunch of linear maps that use a system checkpoints to force players into clearing each room. There is a monotonously progressive difficulty and a new system of rewards which is totally disconnected from the rest of the game. To make matters worse, the performance in warzone is horrible and the number of visual glitches is insane.

Yes i noticed the same, the game suffers from some very annoying problem where animations are rendered in completely different FPS than other elements, its a slideshow at times... End game is fucking joke really, 4 different maps where you "purge" same shit all over again.

I wonder how long they are obliged to support servers for it?
The sales dropped and the player base probably is dwindling now.

aka waiting for the price drop

Ok, watching Quill doing a sponsored LP of this, and it looks pretty good. The steam reviews however are mixed, and the main problem seem to be the lack of variety, doing the same small maps against the same handful of enemy types. Is that the main issue? Because the moment-to-moment gameplay seem great, but i will not invest if they don't use the ridiculously rich WH40k universe to it's full potential.

The lack of variety isn't the only problem, but for sure it's a big one.

Here's a list of serious issues:
The game is poorly optimized and has some severe technical issues
The end-game is lackluster and uninspired
The items are limited and easy to obtain
Plenty of bugs and visual glitches
Not many abilities to use (the system of dual weapons is absolutely pointless)
Balance issues
The suppression mechanic is extremely annoying

Give it half a year. The game will receive more content by then. The developers have "promised" to take notes from the community after Season 1. The price will drop and the expansion will be on the way by then.

Well, if the devs are actively fixing and adding more content then I might do a NMS and buy it once it's good enough with a discount. Smile

I just bought this game today (May 21/2019). The patches and updates have made this game so much better. I really like this type of game a lot. Now they have announced 2.0 version! Complete overhaul or so they say! I picked it up for $29.99 Steam sale. Well worth a buy in my opinion. But only if you like this style of game and Warhammer Universe.
