EA record share prices, no surprises at all tbh, even people on this forum buy their games with the "ME: A2 will be worth it, because Mass Effect (2007) was good"
then think their target demographic didn't even grow up with good games:
- Apparently 70% of fortnight players spent at least $85 on a free game.
- 150 Million fucking dollars just given freely to Chris Roberts for spaceship pictures.
- Dean "RocketAwayWithTheMoney" Hall is considered a respected developer.
- People buy dlc and think its a good thing for gaming.
- People pay monthly subscriptions for single player games and think its a good thing.
- All studio's tend to make the same game once its identified the market remotely likes something.
- I will try (Recognizable Franchise) no matter what game its ripping off or how shitty a deal it is.

Not just that, but they get angry when they are told more isn't on the way. See, for example, the recent outburst on the Total War subreddit when Creative Assembly announced that there would be no more DLC for TWW2 until 2019.

Whats worse for total war franchise... same game / same engine released 25 fucking times. I liked original Rome don't see how you can get excited for the new releases when they are virtually the same game. Back in the day, you would be crucified by critics for not overhauling your engine etc after maybe 2-3 releases.
EA dropped Premium Pass for Battlefield V, so that's a good start
In b4 Casino Royale boxes!
Oh that sounds like it's going to be a bit of a ball buster...
Or maybe EA is hoping for more of a ball tickling experience.
EDIT: One of the Bond movies, used to be pretty frequent with new movies almost bi-yearly I think but I guess it's taking a bit of a hiatus so I guess the bond-age is over while they're figuring out something new.
Now.. gender bender or double action and a bit of both.
Spoiler:
Well Bond being gay was mentioned years ago as a possibility but it never came to that.

It's actually quite simple, really. Stop publishing games designed specifically to make money after purchase.
History shows that people are willing to pay money for cosmetic items, as long as there are also some similar items available in game for just playing. The problem is the ludicrous idea that people IN GENERAL are more than happy to shell out real money to gain equipment that helps them win a game.
That is literally praying on the young, as generally speaking, it's the younger players who feel the need to be better than everyone else via the easiest route possible.
There are plenty of games with ingame shit you can buy which is just cosmetic, and quite successful. That's all people really need. Monetising greed is probably about as low as you can get IMO.
And Fortnite can do it... make a SHED load of cash from a free game with no loot boxes or anything that enhances a payer's abilities.
Maybe that's the secret. Release their next lootbox infested shite free of ch..oh wait, they tried something similar with Dungeon Keeper... that worked out well for them ...

I always found it funny how the industry keeps trying to use trading cards as the analogy. That shit should also be banned as gambling. It's the same scummy practice used to fleece as much money as possible. It doesn't matter if you "always get something" if that something is worthless trash 90% of the time.
Does it even matter though? Just extra small sticker at the back of the physical box that hardly anyone notices. Digital will have some lines written on store page at the bottom which again no one will bother to look.
And in-game, they added a layer with a bunch of random number %.
>Belgium's Gambling Commission recently found that FIFA 18 violates the country's gambling regulations.
Some campaign specific categories, for example Ones to Watch, feature rare content. In some packs, the rarity of this content category may be less than 1%, and within that there will be a wide range of probabilities.

It honestly makes no difference. If anything, it only makes you more addicted. Keep tempting your fate to get that small percentage drop.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
