Why the hell does the in-game character model just barely resemble the actress? Something about Claire looks disturbing and scary. And not to forget Leon suddenly getting a butt chin 
1 and 2 are still amazing.

It is one of the (extremely) rare cases where we don't really have anything to complain about, as the gameplay shown was pretty damn good, we have a release date and there is virtually no drama surrounding the game (..so far!). So it's kinda inevitable that the discussion will have to focus on something else instead

I disagree. The character design of the Resident Evil characters is iconic.
They are instantly recognizable, Jill is always blue, Chris green, Claire red, etc. Leon's RE4 haircut and jacket? Fan favorites.
So it's nothing new.
