Seems like some companies try to make their last money from PC users, as we actually get closer and closer to the PS3. Hopefully, these titles will be nicely ported to PC. ;]

Remember with Onimusha 3 it got released and noone knew anything about it. The ports are probably being done in Japan first, and then slowly they make their way here. That's why it will probably be released on the scene sooner than you'll hear about it, as teh case with ONI3

If they should adjust the controls of RE4 so people can use the mouse, the game will probably be a lot easier. Hope they do it right.

Yes but ONI3 was a piece of shit port. Very cheap and PC unfriendly. It actually had PS2 controller layouts in some instructions, fucking cheap.

Yeah that's true, and it was a bad port. However it was still very much playable if you looked past that control scheme, definately not a "buy" type game due to those factors, but fun nevertheless. If RE4 and DMC3 are ported in this manner, it will be rather dissapointing. Let's hope they improve the gfx a little too, the gameplay is certainly there, but if they amp the graphics it will make for a swell game.

I have come to expect little from console ports, because in the case of Halo, you have a very celebrated console game, but I found it extremely boring on the PC, I do believe it was because of the superior control the Mouse/Keyboard gives you in FPS, and with that in mind it simply wasn't challenging, plus the level design was disastrous, they blatently just copied the same halways and rooms, walkin thru the same fucking hal plus room combo 5 times, meeting the same monster just isn't fun, and it isn't something you'd find in any high profile FPS made to the PC.
Or in the case of PES you don't have a chance unless you have a gamepad, because you can't alter the controls to take full advantages of the keyboard.
The difference in the way you control the games on the PC or Consol, obviously makes for some pretty different design choices, and I don't think that it's just a mather of porting the game, most games need serious alteration, but hey that is just my opinion.
Could be great though, trying this RES 4 everyones been praising.

Well most people nowdays have PC gamepads, for myself i know i wouldn't be able to enjoy alot of games without it. Console to PC ports can be good or bad, i thought halo was a rather decent port, and i played both xbox and PC versions and i couldn't really tell much diff excpet different controls (Key vs. Pad). As for these games, a gamepad is a must (well for onimusha 3 and DMC 3 SE anyways). And realistically, if gaming companies can make ports and sell them cheap, like for 20-30 bucks, that's incetive for me to buy the game. I don't see why games for PC carry such a ridiculous price tag, like $55 for BF2 for example. I can understand console games costing alot (with the system apparantly loosing money in sales), but PC games? Common, i'm sure more people would be inclined to buy powerful PCs and buy cheaper games. But there's many factors i'm not taking into consideration here, but tis just one scenario.
/end rant

I never played Halo before in my life, but I just can't imagine how people are able to play fps with a fucking controller? But I agree, most people who complain about console-pc ports just try to play it with their keyboard and mouse, which is just stupid. good example is the tony hawk series, did you ever try to play it with keyboar? its a fucking nightmare. People who complain about ports, should, like you said, invest 20-30 for a decent dual analog controller. But no way Jose, they just spend 10 miserable dollars for their 1337-ps2-to-usb adapter. for 15$ more you get a very good controller, with 2 more buttons, and a fan inside (no more sweaty hands). check the 'atv vs. mx whater motocross uphill-downhill-whatever-i'm-too-drunk-to-temember' thread...

Well halo worked remarkably well with a controller, i was skeptical at first, but then surprised. The important thing for these releases is that the control scheme is fully customizable, unlike path of neo which was a nightmare with a gamepad. But it looks as though it will be customizable, as onimusha 3 would let you change the controls for the gamepad, and it would be no surprise if all the ports should be done in this way. Hopefully they make nicer menus (for control config), get rid of the mouse pointer, and make the game run full screen.

In all seriousness, anyone who complains that RE4 will have Starforce or some other shit are idiots.
RE4 is the type of game that you buy. Plain and simple. I hate Starforce to death and I never purchased a single game protected with fagforce, but if RE4 has Fagforce, that will be the first I will buy.
I own RE4 for the G-Cube and the PS2 it is by far one of the greatest games ever made. If they port it well, which I think they will. I will be buying this game just like I bought it for the G-Cube, Starforce or not.
I cant wait to see this game in High Res with Graphics Maxed out, damn its going to look sweet.

what i don't understand is people coming on the boards and telling others that they need to buy this game. Yes it's a good game, yes piracy is bad, but you can't choose which games to pirate and which not, and justify it. It all depends on people's better judgement, and in the end it comes down to "i'll download it to try" but realistically hardly anyone buys the game after they play through it. I don't think i need to go on, seeing as this has been argued to death. I just hope these games are good and worth playing.
