Yeah that smile expression is so weird and off even with the other force emote expressions you can use as a override.

I do use it heavily for the screenshots I take too though because it just breaks some scenes completely. Razz

EDIT: Then again the in-game facial expressions sometimes fail even without overrides and Lara has the personality of a psychopath caring for nothing but her own gain with no regards to the other characters encountered thus far.

For some scenes she has a more angular facial structure and then for others it gets more rounded, the photo mode override pushed it even further though.

Overall she's quite a bit stockier but also looks a fair bit older though the character models from the 2013 and 2015 games are in here too when you use existing save data albeit they use some alternate character model for the 2013 one probably taken from the re-release with improved skin and texture detail but the hair in particular looks horrible whereas most other outfits use the PureHair(TressFX) effect other than the retro skins and then this one has some flat textured plane instead.

And for the regular game well something like this. You don't really get close up to the character model outside of the cutscenes and usually it's going to be with the camera on the back of the character as you fall to your death again, thanks auto centering during platforming. Razz

EDIT: Although I guess the Gear Guide image and such already shows the designer using <-> on the character model a bit.
It's not as badly proportioned though like say ME Andromeda but Lara does look a fair bit different in this game compared to the last two. (Even if it probably takes place close after Tomb Raider Re-Revived and Rise of the Tomb Raider and not years later with Lara in her upper 20's to early 30's.)


EDIT: Hmm the design might have changed over the course of the game too going by early footage though it's the usual cinematic stuff.

What an extremely overrated game. It's exactly the same formula with yet another weak story. I do like the voice acting and the sound design. Lara's face is extremely well done and incredibly expressive. And the new tombs are fun. But there are soo many problems with the game, ranging from exploration and progression to severe technical issues. They couldn't even be bothered to fix the shooting or the transition between animations...

The narrative's quality doesn't differ much. The stories are pretty much in the same boat of racing for doomsday artifacts against some poorly written antagonists. But at least in RotTR the progression was much more fleshed out and exploration paid off to a degree. Here is just a grind for boring skills and weapon's upgrades. The guns behave poorly and the shooting often has no impact or feedback on the target. The enemies are uninspired and pose little to no challenge relying on cheap AI tricks where spotting means that the enemies will know your exact position no matter what. We are exploring a jungle in South America and there are no snakes or other setting appropriated animals to fight, that's how lazy the design is. And the supernatural enemies (SPOILER ALERT!) are not much different from the ones in the past games. If the developers didn't shift focus from the combat, Shadow of the Tomb Raider would have been an even bigger drag than already is.
This game costs 60 bucks and they couldn't even license the gun's names or do a proper sound synchronization. Every grave I searched for loot has the sound effects way off and this is one of many examples where the sound just doesn't match the action on the screen. I am absolutely disgusted how the journalists rated this game.

Really nice textures and thats it. I feel like in а cut scene simulator, I am not playing anything. When walking somewhere it's usually limited space and you can go only straight.

Yeah it's a issue with some of these not registering, will be interesting to see what it lands on as I'm around 66% completion so far with the earlier areas other than Paititi fully completed now.

Ultimately it's just a achievement though, SAM works on Steam (On Github now and a bit more up to date.) but I guess legitimate 100% is a thing too and even if it's just a script issue that's going to bother a lot of players who would be at 100% if the thing triggered properly.
(Instead of missing or skipping certain collectibles or getting stuck or whatever else is broken with that counter.)

Polygon has a point, though while all the rebooted titles received a massive boost in the fun factor by eliminating the annoying platforming sessions and obsolete logical thinking from the so-called "classics", nothing was done to solve the biggest issues of the franchise: the blind cultural appropriation and glorification of white colonialism in its purest form.

It's downright insulting that Lara has to wander around blatantly wearing ponchos and folklore masks, belittling the Mexican culture and helping out Indigenous people who needn't any help, more so if it's coming from an heir to the British Empire that's indirectly feeding GamerGate's nazi male power fantasy. She then proceeds to ransack their ancient tombs, tear down statues and collect trophies just for the regressive conquistadorish sake of it like a modern G.W. Bush, a trope that has no reason to exist in games and yet it is glorified alongside violence and extreme objectification of the female body. Speaking of which, why can't Lara look like a normal girl for once? Or do the developers really think that by reducing the size of breasts and by adding a few pounds to her figure the sexualization is magically gone?

I forced myself to finish this game for my review. I didn't think it was possible for them to come up with a story that's worse than Rise, but Shadow achieves this with ease. The ending was a rapid succession of cringy moments, the rock bottom of a main story that's drowning in mediocrity. The whole experience is generic and repetitive to the point of exhaustion. Nothing has been done to fix the gameplay or technical problems of the past. Everything is the same from the bad shooting (which somehow is even worse now), to the dumb AI, to the tedious and railed exploration.
Lara's origin story was such a joke that I don't even want another Tomb Raider.

They did that with the fourth game. (Considered one of the peaks of the series.) Unfortunately Eidos wanted more so they had to make a fifth and it got delayed and somehow rushed and that was pretty much it for the original team I believe.
Delayed and rushed happened again with the anniversary or remake of the first game though it then improved for the rest.

And then it was rebooted again with this origin story which really was just the first game but then Trinity became a plot point with Lara taking a brief stop in Siberia ensuring Jesus does not come back and it's off to this jungle adventure which from how I hear they couldn't really wrap up very well so the end game is probably going to be spectacular.

Spectacularly fail at least. Razz

Maybe, but so far it didn't help against bypassing even with the 'D' as long as u have base legal version..

Nonetheless, CODEX 'discount' is very likely in the upcoming months.
