Quote: | Arthur has needs, too, like eating and sleeping. As you play, Arthur gets hungry and tired over time. If you don’t eat or sleep, you won’t regenerate your health or stamina as quickly. It doesn’t seem to veer into pure simulation territory, but I did eat a snack before a gunfight just in case. I can’t say for certain how it works over longer sessions, but Rockstar is adamant that, like the weapon cleaning, it’s not designed to be intrusive. Instead, it’s a way to remind players that Arthur is a person, and not just a hunk of meat that’s entirely self-sustaining.
Over time, his hair and beard will grow, which you can shave at camp or get trimmed in town. Hairstyles and facial hair aren’t magically summoned when you plop into the chair, either. If you want a mullet or mustache, you’ll have to grow it and have it cut it to form. |
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Quote: | * Horse testicles will change size depending on the weather conditions.
* Your horse will poo.
* You cannot kill your horse if you shoot it.
* You can heavily customize your horse: cut its mane, braid its tail, teach it new tricks and lots more.
* You can name your horse.
* The five states in the game are Amberino, Lemoyne, New Hanover, New Austin and West Elizabeth.
* You can drive trains in Red Dead Redemption 2.
* Confirmed minigames include Poker, Five Finger Fillet, Fishing and Domino.
* Full facial deformation during fist fights.
* Hold up on the d-pad while aiming and Arthur will fire a warning shot in the air, which can be used to attract the attention of other characters or startle an animal he’s hunting.
* Snow on Arthur’s clothing will eventually melt. Mud will harden and wipe away. Blood will dry.
* Weapons and clothing are extremely customizable - switch out barrels, and other gun parts to enhance its performance.
* If you kill a civilian, it's possible their family members will hunt you down throughout the game.
* Not taking care of your weapon can cause it to jam, misfire, and more. You can break your enemies weapons if you shoot them accurately enough.
* verything you do in the game affects your surroundings, and at some point in the game, you will meet someone, or hear an NPC talk about an event you witnessed, read about or were a part of.
* If your horse dies, it is dead permanently. Until you get a new one, that is - but you'll have to form a bond all over again.
* Arthur can swim, but "not very well." Type of clothing and stamina might affect that ability. |
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Wondering what the performance will be on a regular slim PS4. Will it be a replay from the original rdr on ps3. Some previews mentioned it''s dipping hard on pro. Still subject to performance tweeks.

surely normal PS4 is 1080p and should run at 30 FPS while pro is 4K.
maybe if they remove all the ultra advanced ball sack physics, its shrink/grow "A.I" + its 8K textures it could run at 60. But then again, the game would only be a shadow of what it is trying to be.

The hype is building up. Anywhere selling the physical copy in UK with noticeable discounts? Seems expensive everywhere.

highly doubt you'll see anyone selling it at a discount more than £1 or £2 differences at best.. i've never seen discounts for big titles at release, in 3-6 months prices will drop slightly.

Latest Xbone is slightly more powerful, but all the videos are from PS4 Pro.. from the reports it doesnt dip below 30 in the videos at least (remains to be seen if those are representative).

If playing on the pro but using a 1080p TV it should be more stable frame rate vs trying to do 4K right? Or am I just doing wishful thinking?

Yes. Nothing points to it having unstable 30 FPS though.

Cool. Thank you!
105gb in size. Glad I went with physical copy this time. Data caps suck and we only have one option for internet unfortunately.

Isn't the Pro doing supersampling (when available) when using a 1080 screen? Wouldn't the stress on the console be the same?

Yea the Pro basically has 3 modes: 4k, 1080p supersampled, 1080p standard with better performance
