What is this awfull delay in some matches, you press a button and 1 sec later it gets registered, only in some matches though..
Its like, lag, but different.. and it seems the other person doesn't have it..

sounds to me like you don't have unlimited fps in fifa launcher options enabled + in nvidia panel adaptive vsync for fifa.exe

no delay here, everything as it should be
and unlimited fps + adaptive vsync isnt needed anymore. just run it in windowed borderless mode with 60fps cap in the launcher (unlimited fps,which in borderless windowed mode would be capped to 60fps if you have 60hz display would cause problems even if its steady 60fps). will result in smooth gameplay + 60fps in menus and cutscenes

The 2 sec delay is exclusive to Rivals, apparently it sends your data to the UK servers and back, so it's kind of ridiculous rn. May get fixed on the full release.
Pretty much a roulette if you get a good game or this delayed bs.

its not even officially released  won my first ~10 matches without problems, after meeting some better opponents i got on a loosing streak (dunno, 6-7 losses, 4 draws), during that i experimented with new formations, always used the 4-4-2 diamond. im on 4-3-3 fake 9 now and it works wonders, creating chances like crazy but my finishing still sucks. won the last games with 3-4 goals easily, but could have scored double of that. its not the timed finish stuff, that works okayish. its the normal shots, feels very different this year, its often like driven shots instead of full steam ahead like i usually shoot. that they mapped the low hard shot on rb+lb + shoot isnt helping either, hard to aim properly while pushing all the buttons
but its good to see many people use the instant abort celebrating+replay function after scoring
(take in account that im not playing fut, just regular online saison)

Can't put my finger on something, but players feel "heavier" this time. In a sense that they're slower. Also, r/FIFA had some good FUT suggestions to get a decent and cheap team going.

they are slower, thats the reason why you cant overrun the defense like before. you dont need to play silly tikitaka but you need way better passing than before to create chances. a good thing imho. feels now like the best games of the last generation, improved my finishing (a lot still goes wide, but that might be related to my fucked up controllers. have 4 360 pads, over 10 years old with parts replaced over time, ordered a new xone controller + nano receiver already). flair shots work better this year to just hammer the damn ball in, havent really used them the last two years but now you need them again

I noticed that during the shoot, you have to hold your aim until the ball releases. Otherwise it will continue to go where your stick goes. I missed a few penalties like that lol

Hell yes, noticed that too. With previous FIFA's after being triggered by the aids being given at certain points was already enough. On top of that, people kept celebrating for 5 minutes. At that point I felt like completely losing my temper and ragequit (with sometimes ending up with a broken controller)
Much better with this FIFA.. All controllers still alive! <3
Allthough the kick-off aids is still there... one of the more annoying things in FIFA this year..
Overall, FIFA 18 is ASS and we finally can enjoy a 'new fifa'.

I feel like they've tried something to fix this and don't experience that 'long' 2 sec delay, but still a delay with certain matches where u have to think even more forward.. Which still annoys the shit out of me. I like to intrude in someone's brain trying to think what he's going to do, with a delay its almost impossible.

oh boy ea finally did something which they havent done in years, they have not patched the game to death! they indeed improved it over the last patches and todays patch is nailing it.
