So Much Win

Looks great so far.

There is indeed a lot of potential ready to be unleashed here, here's hoping all goes smoothly and the rough aspects from the ancient beta prologue (performance and combat system) will be polished/balanced properly in the final* release. The body is definitely ready to hop in the Ark Dude Cool
*hopefully, it's final and not "final" Cool Face

All kidding aside, best of luck @INSOMNIA_The_Ark Smile

Shut up and take my rubels!

Might just be the Fallout-style fix I'm looking for.

Wishlisted and followed on Steam for now.

All of these numbers: years in making, hours of content, npcs, etc...

But how many of them are good? Much more pertinent question.

Unplayable for me, the mouse sensitivity is way too small even at max, and the aiming when you shoot holy shit .

No pad support...meh, although the devs say it's coming.

Should have been in from the ground up.

Yeh, the camera is awful.

The game feels unfinished, the UI is old fashioned, the game needs a bit more work.

It's like always these days with smaller devs, you pay to playtest an alpha release. In 1-2 years you have a proper 1.0 (called 2.9 Wink )

holly fuck, the aiming Laughing How did they come up with this camera angle? You're looking towards the floor, not seeing very far in front of you. Is this some way to not design and render an entire area? So they just draw the floor, a bit of wall and not the upper part of an area? And fuck, that aiming - the mouse aims normal on horizontal, but turns into a console style cursor on vertical. Jesus christ almighty.

I don't expect either Red Dead Redemption 2 or the new AssCreed to be in early alpha.. it does happen that bigger titles are buggy but no way they are anywhere near KS projects or smaller indie titles these days, they're horrific, i would never buy them at release.

I dont know what their deal is, i mean its not like these devs will be stunned when their game bombs in reviews (from sites and on Steam). They're just doing themselves the tremendous disservice of missing the window of opportunity to gain good reviews from gaming sites + users at release.

Must be sooo fun for them to flash with those 45-60% reviews when they eventually might have that 85/100 game, but everyone has moved on and especially the bigger review sites.

I agree with you Vurt, releasing a game in a particularly shaky state is never really a convenient/profitable move, even more so when the title in question has a relatively limited target audience like in this case. This is coming from a very long gestation time too, a few months of delay in order to iron out the most glaring annoyances (still there from the beta as far as I can tell) would have done no harm and would have definitely improved the reception and visibility. The usual 'accidental early access in progress' red warning sign scares people away, and losing momentum in such a crowded market is risky.

I really hope these guys can fix the naughty bits in a reasonable timeframe, since from my time with it the potential for a rough enjoyable gem is there in my opinion (I'll be waiting as well though, again Razz).

On the positive side, they've begun releasing patches (with more to come): https://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791461982085/announcements/detail/2618171872213775780

It seems they left a lot of their analytic tracking phone home stuff in the retail version so people are mad since they were not told it was there.

The ambientation is great.
Feels like the original Fallout meets Bioshock, with a hint of STALKER here and there
