Yes, they've always been great at it! You could always choose to climb one tower or another. Big dilemma! True pioneers of the industry!

I bet this will get compared to TW3 a lot, like Horizon Zero Dawn was. Laughing

Even the previous title was compared a lot to Witcher 3, clearly it was an inspiration. It felt kind of like Witcher 3 sometimes but with better combat but overall far less interesting characters and story/quests. It's an action RPG though, clearly.

The old me would have said that this is an action game with some RPG elements. But even I don't bother anymore.

I don't agree.. however i understand that it's very personal what an RPG is. For me i would rank things like non-linearity, exploration and open world / build your own adventure-type of themed games as far more RPG'ish than something more linear (but perhaps excels in other areas).

I really like this direction they're going in, i had around zero interest in the titles before Origins.. It's not as good as Witcher 3 or TES yet perhaps but Origins was a really great game and kept my interest longer than Skyrim (...or FO4 which i still haven't even played even though i bought it at release) Wink

These games will never reach their potential if they keep reusing ubisoft's cheap design and this isn't only about AC.

Potential, you mean for a much smaller hardcore RPG enthusiast crowd? No, that would be quite idiotic. I'm very happy we have one series that is going more in an RPG direction than swaying from it, like for example Bethesda.

How often does this happen, "AAA" action game turning into an "almost" full blown RPG? never..

Cheap or not, this is is way more preferable to something like far cry which has been going nowhere. Any long running series can be seen as "cheap". I played the latest xcom and it was the same rather boring "cheap" design as the first, slight improvements.. Latest GalCiv, just slight improvements over 2.. etc etc..

I mean games that don't use cheap design tricks like: reusing the same enemies from the beginning to the end, level gating, etc.

That's a lot of pizza.

At least for the PC version if they haven't changed things too much it might still be possible to unlock all of the extra items without buying the 120 or so rolls. Razz
(So from the video the first one had some item, second one had some useless XP buff, third one had some other item and then up to 12 for more useless XP buffs and finally the Walmart fat-roller at 120 4-packs for some final item. )

Oh no the voice acting. They sound like they're just trying to do an accent. Wouldn't it be better if they just got someone who actually had an accent?
