Doom 3 gave me heartfailure, several times. My computer is located on the attic. One time my wife was ironing shirts behind me while I was playing. She thought it was funny to put her hand on my shoulder. Nearly damn' killed me.

Its the same reason why people credit WarCraft with RTS gaming (despite there being titles before it - noteably Dune): It was more popular and did things much better than the "original".
