yes, the days are since long gone when we could buy a physical copy and that was the game, done. now you both have to download probably half the game at least + most likely a day 1 or first week patch of several GB's more.
so that means i need 200 gigs to download it and let it install due to the shitty way PS4 installation works
Says who? Whenever a digital game gets a patch you will automatically download the latest version of that game so no extra patches.
And yea I'm wondering as well since the game is 105gb will it come with 2 discs? Or will it only have 1 disc containing the SP and let you download the rest aka the MP part? They should just release that info already..
so that means i need 200 gigs to download it and let it install due to the shitty way PS4 installation works
Well yes and no.
The PS4 will need 200 gigs free space but it's not because of the installation. PS4 doesn't install games anymore like PS3 did. It mounts the PKG 1:1 from PSN, like you mount a ISO.
Not sure the reason behind the need of x2 free space though since it does not install them, need to ask Sony for that
whats this going to be like on normal PS4? I dont play many ps4 games so seems pointless getting a pro for 1 game.
it's gonna be 1080p. doubt there is any other difference.

Yep, I am glad they increased the frequency of random encounters alot in RDR2, according to the previews atleast.
I don't mind when there's nothingness in a map, it's just how nature / the world is. Never thought it felt empty in RDR. When something happens it should be fairly unexpected instead of having e.g random encounters every 3 minutes at average or similar, that will be much more boring and predictable than to stumble up on them more randomly and more rarely.

So apparently the gameplay videos so far have been captured on a PS4 Pro? At least, that's what a Digital Foundry video claims.
That's good, it means it looks really good even on a PS4 Pro. I am conflicted what to buy—a XOX or PS4 Pro; it's primary purpose is playing RDR2. I have little interest in most console games, but there are some interesting ones that are mostly on PS4 Pro. But damn if it doesn't tingle my OCD, buying the underspecced console (on top of it being a console). The One X is just a better machine, and the controller is more comfortable for me (personal preference). But games-wise, it's pretty barren on the XOX—basically anything interesting on it is on PC too (RDR2 being the big exception, for now).
Hard choice, i gone for PS4 Pro due to choice of games that are not available on anything else. XOX makes somes games looks better and running on higher resolution, but is it worth to buy it then? it's up to you to decide. What could be plus if you have freesync monitor, you can use it with XOX, but not on PS4 (Pro).
PS4 Pro is a way more interesting console than X. How RDR2 will compare is impossible to say, from what we know it will be 30 FPS on both consoles. Xbox One X does have better hardware. Either wait (if you want to be sure) or get the PS4 Pro directly, and absolutely get the PS4 pro if you're gonna play more games than RDR2.. god of war, spiderman, last of us, etc. Imo PS4 Pro is a no-brainer then, but for ONLY this game, impossible to say.
I mean, what happened in the past is I bought a PS3 for MK9 "only", then discovered RDR, KZ2&3 and other games, and enjoyed the console after all (don't rat me out in the PC section ). So what is likely to happen is, once I hook the console to the OLED TV, I am likely to enjoy a modern console too...
haha and what would be wrong with that. i'm a gamer foremost, couldnt care less for witch platform. PS4 has a lot of interesting titles coming up, i wouldnt for my life want to miss out on Last of Us 2. Days Gone looks interesting too...
Just like my Xbox One before I sold it, my Xbox One X is gathering dust and has been since State of Decay 2 released. I’ve been meaning to sign up for Xbox Game Pass to play Forza Horizons 4 but I’m too busy with games on PS4 Pro to bother lol. I’ve always had a Microsoft console for their exclusives and play multiformat games on PlayStation as all friends and family have one.
Preordered Red Dead Redemption 2 for PS4. I know Xbox is the more powerful machine but I don’t think the improvements are significant enough for me to choose it over Xbox when it comes to the multiformat titles. If all the gameplay videos so far of Red Dead Redemption 2 have been taken from the PS4 Pro I’m more than happy with the performance I’ve seen. Having said that Rockstar won’t show any gameplay of the game performing badly lol.
