Going by reviews, the atmosphere is great, narrative is good but suffers in the second half of the game. Gameplay is decent, but the puzzles are lacking and the controls are clunky.

Any way to adjust FOV ?

Never mind found a way Smile

From nekov4ego on Steam:

Find Engine.ini in \Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\CallOfCthulhu\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

1. Create a copy of the original just in case.
2. Open the file and add lines:

[/script/engine.localplayer]

AspectRatioAxisConstraint=75

3. Save the file and open its Properties, then make it Read Only.
4. Play

What value are you using for the FOV ?

Lian-Li XL Dynamic ROG Black - EVGA 1000w - Lian-li Galahad 360 AIO - MSI X570 Meg Ace - Rysen 5950x - G.Skill 4x16GB CL14 3600@3800(14-15-15-34) - Samsung 960 Pro 512 - Samsung 960 Pro 1TB - Kingston HyperX SSD 120gb SATA 3 (6gb/s) - WD Black Caviar 2x 2TB SATA 3 (6gb/s) Raid 0 - WD Black Caviar 2 TB SATA 3 (6gb/s) - EVGA 3090 FTW3 - LG C1 48" 4k120hrz

well, the game kinda is rough around teh edges for shure..looks like they rushed it? without optimizing the GFX..i mean, ambient lightning is totally missing kinda..
But beeing the pc master race we have RESHADE at our hands, and yes, you can make the game look pretty decent with reshade..The story is ok so far, the Voice acting is pretty decent also, same guy as teh Vampyr dude..

well, i didnt play long yet, so far its an OK game..

Cant make screenshots with reshade since teh game uses an 24bit something bla bla..(probally HDR stuff) so when i find another way making screens, ill post an light reshade preset, that gives teh game some needed ambient lightning..and more..

Which reshade did you use ? I tried the conventional way and the overlay shift+F2 does not even appear although I installed the program correctly like 100's of times on other games..

Probably because there is ZERO combat in the game, as was confirmed quite some time ago.

im using "ReShade_Setup_3.4.1" with my own shaders...
Do you have afterburner OSD running? (RTSS)? that might cause a problem..

also i really recommend to check out the "qUINT Pack" --> https://reshade.me/forum/shader-presentation/4393-quint

and since the game has no "zoom" mode to zoom in on objects, heres an shader for it Smile --> https://reshade.me/forum/shader-presentation/4525-magnifier-scope-shader

And for sharpening that mess of textures, use "FilmicAnamorphSharpen.fx or FilmicSharpenWithDepth.fx" for it.. Its the BEST sharpener out there for reshade, no Artefacts.. Smile Test it out..

If you dont get it to run, post again, and ill upload my reshade files, after that it should work... The game is dx11 / 64bit...did you name the Reshade.dll to dxgi.dll?

also, wich might fix your problem, if you have the wrong Game exe..
The exe reshade needs to be installed in is here:

W:\Games\Call of Cthulhu\Cya\Binaries\Win64

Dont use the exe in: W:\gamedir\Call of Cthulhu\

i hope that will fix your problem Smile

but, but, but, in teh game options under Controller it clearly says:
Quote:

ActionMappings=(ActionName="Fire",Key=Gamepad_RightTrigger,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
ActionMappings=(ActionName="Fire",Key=LeftMouseButton,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)

and

ActionMappings=(ActionName="Weapon",Key=BackSpace,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
ActionMappings=(ActionName="Weapon",Key=Gamepad_FaceButton_Top,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)

ingame, these are the Gun and shoot/fire keys..

So, im wondering for what you gonna use that gun??

like i sayd im not far in, i just set everything up, made me some nice reshades and felt asleep. ..

Smile Embarassed

Works perfect now!

This game has the same problem with the dialogs as Vampyr had, but it's even worse here; dialogs are now a mix of permanent choices that open up/block out other paths, and repeatable choices, but this isn't made clear at all. And you don't realize the gravity of each choice until you hear the actual dialog and it's not always what you wanted to say.

Same type of permanent check-point saving system as well... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I also don't like it that the game is so quick to block potential paths, just because you don't have high enough skills yet. Without prior knowledge of the skill requirement, it's just guessing, and you can't reload either.
I mean, apparently I broke the contraption to open that trap door in the warehouse, because I'm not strong enough yet. How is that physically even possible?

I am stack at mansion entry as I can click any dialog option with the cap, will reload now

I am fine with it being more adventure game then FPS

MEH still stuck, reloaded and same, start of chapter 3 at mansion and can exit nor select any dialog

I had the dialogue bug too. Unplug any controllers you have attached and restart the game. Should work. If not, then USE a controller to make a selection - that'll work too.

I don't like how the investigation mode works, it gives way too much information.
The story starts interesting, but it unfolds in something that doesn't seem all that Lovecraftian to me.
The visuals aren't great, but we already knew this, however, the performance isn't always the great.
Besides these issues, the game is alright so far (just finished chapter 7).
